The kind of book that cuts you deep but you can't stop reading it. It challenges you in your walk and in your heart. Bob Goff has written such a book in Everybody, Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People published by Thomas Nelson. There is no wonder why this book has hit bestselling list as did his previous book Love Does to which this is a follow-up.
Bob Goff is a lawyer, speaker, world changer, and story teller. He uses the art of story to bring across tremendous truths in this book. In his book he says that we should follow the practice of Jesus who just loved everybody always. Yes, we are to love the difficult ones too. He says in his book, "I don't want to get to heaven and have Jesus tell me my big opinions blocked someone's view of Him."
Goff sucks you in with story after story. Almost every chapter is a story and some stories are extended over several chapters. Each story has been taken from his life and each one has a tremendous lesson attached to it. He encourages you to view people through the lenses of Jesus. In the end his desire is for the world to see less of us and more of Jesus in our lives. "I want people to meet you and me and feel like they've just met everyone in heaven," says Goff.
Probably one of the greatest parts of this book is his challenge for you to love difficult people and he gives practical advice on doing that. We are talking good, solid, advice.
I could fill this review with quote after quote from this author. Probably the most powerful story is his last. I found myself in tears reading it.
There is a reason why this book is a best seller. His next book will be as well. If you have never read Bob Goff, you need to. His book needs to be your next purchase. You will thank me.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review. This was a pleasure.
MLT91955 Stars Out Of 5Positive telling of how we should love othersJuly 23, 2018MLT9195Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A positive book which promotes the idea of loving 'everybody always', just like Jesus did. A favorite line from the book: "If I really want to meet Jesus, then I have to get a lot closer to the people He created-all of them, not just some of them." Although this author repeats too often throughout the book that he is a lawyer, he does get the point across in an easy to understand way how we should treat others. Very helpful, insightful, and descriptive. I recommend this book because of the powerful message it promotes.
Linda5 Stars Out Of 5excellantJune 25, 2018LindaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I highly reccomend this book. It is very well written and right to the point of how we all need to be relating to one another. There is no reason for the animosity towards others that covers our society today other than the blatant way so many have turned from respecting each other and doing unto others as the Bible teaches us. Goff, with love and honesty tells us to open our eyes and love as we should! Everyone should read this book!!

Sarah5 Stars Out Of 5A must read for everyone who calls themselves a Christ-followerApril 18, 2018SarahQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am reviewing the first five chapters of the book that I received from the publisher. Bob writes like youre sitting down with him having a conversation. Its easy to read, humorous and packed with simple truths that we often over-complicate. This book challenged me to think about the way I love people; not just the nice ones, but the creepy and difficult ones. I had several moments while reading the first few chapters where I was convicted in how Ive loved people. I either avoid them altogether out of fear, or I love others with an agenda; both are not loving like Jesus. This thought from Bob was illuminating to me - Its not up to me to tell others how to live but to tell them who they are and then to leave it up to God to work in their lives. Seems so simple, but oh, how we overcomplicate it! Bob hit the nail on the head in this book and is a must read for everyone who calls themselves a Christ-follower. This book leaves me with a singular goal: to simply love like Jesus loves - Everybody, Always.
