This is a very nice devotional for youngsters. I enjoyed reading through the Boys devotional. I found that it is easy to read and the subject of the devotional would be very relevant to a young boys thoughts. Bright & bold pictures of the VeggieTales characters brighten 365 days of VeggieTale characters, there is a verse for each day, a devotional, a thought for the day and a prayer. I enjoyed reading through this book I think it could be relevant to all ages. I was gifted a copy to read and review..

Cute, Attractive, Colorful, Bright and Cheery are all words that describe this fun kids devotional. I can't wait for Christmas to come so I can send one to my grandson who just recently got his own copy of the VeggieTales Bible. They are going to make a great pair. The other cool thing about this devotional is that it comes in a girls and boys version, so you get to choose. I chose the boy version.

I found it to be the perfect small size for any kid. (7 x 5 in) Each page sports a colorful veggie tale character, along with the verse, devotional, thought for the day and prayer. It contains 365 devotionals, but instead of being dated by calendar date, they are dated Day 1, Day 2, and so on. Actually I like it that way, because you could start on any day of the year with Day 1.

The Scripture verses used come from a variety of versions. I believe they have chosen the easiest version in which to understand that particular verse. The "thought for the day" sections consist not only of ideas to think about, but also challenges to do, such as: "Write a note to a friend to say how important he or she is to you." Or "Practice telling the truth all the time this week. See how you feel." I love how these little contemplations will get the kids to pondering and acting on God's Word. The back of this devotional also has various Scriptures the kids are encouraged to memorize.

I really liked the devotional as a whole. I think any young child, especially if they enjoy some Veggie Tales, will be happy with it. It is written in a fairly easy to read format for kids who are consistently able to read on their own, otherwise a parent reading to them would be a better choice.

I received a copy of this devotional from FLYBY Promotions in exchange for my honest opinion. I am in no way required to review it positively. No other compensation has been given.

Filled with colorful characters and excellent life lessons VeggieTales Every Day with God: 365 Daily Devos is a great addition to our daily routine. Since I have 2 boys (aged 2 and 4), I got the devotional book for boys...Shocker, I know. All the characters on the pages are the guys from VeggieTales, Bob, Larry, Junior, Larry Boy, Pa Grape, Mr. Lunt etc. Each page is labeled as Day 1, 2, 3...Instead of the dates. The devotion for the day is only one page, which is perfect for my active boys who don't like to sit still for very long. The devo starts with a title such as "It's Good to Have Good Friends" and "Jesus Loves You!" a coinciding scripture is next, the version varies depending on the verse. There are about 16 different versions of the bible used in this devotional. There is a 2-3 paragraph devo, followed by a "Thought of the Day" and "Pray Today" prayer. There are also several verses for memorization in the back of the book. The language is easy to understand and the lessons are great. From learning about spiritual gifts, God's love being real, and God's provision...to honesty, giving God your worries, being willing to forgive. There is something new every day for your kids to learn. The boys love this book and I even see my 4 year old "reading" it on his own. My 2 year old is a little young for it, but I believe this book is great for establishing the habit of daily devotions for both of the boys.

I received a free copy of VeggieTales Every Day with God: 365 Daily Devos for Boys through FlyBy Promotions in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

This is a small paperback book with colorful numbered pages within. Each page represents a day up to 365 then following that are some pages called 'Know it by Heart' with memory verses on each page. The illustrations are based on the VeggieTales In The House characters of Bob and Larry rather than the original. Probably not really much difference to most of you but the characters eyes are different and they appear more digitized than the Bob and Larry on the original VeggieTales shows. As an artist, I admit that this bothers me a bit as I wonder why they can't just keep the original Bob and Larry. The digitizing cheapens the images to me - but that's just my opinion, the stories are just as good!

Each devotion has a simple scripture to start. I notice the scriptures vary from translation to translation. Scanning through I can see scriptures from NASB, TLB, CEV, NLT, NCV, HCSB, Message, ESV, KJV, ICB, ESV, NIV, NKJV. So there is a broad range. With each of these, they have obviously sought the differing translations to get the simplest, most easiest to understand version of each verse. There is an application and thought of the day in each days devotional and a simple prayer at the end.

The whole book is illustrated brightly with Veggie Tales characters on each devotional page.

This is a great little book and as it is intended for parents to read to their children each day, I imagine you could start as soon as your child likes to sit still for a few minutes for a story... and can talk too would help! I got the one for 'boys' but there is also a girls one available. I am not 100% sure on the difference between the two aside from the color of the covers.
