BookwormAge: 25-345 Stars Out Of 5Romeo is my favorite character.December 14, 2017BookwormAge: 25-34Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Evergreen: A Christiansen Winter Novella - eBook. This is a robust, gratifying book. I experienced so many emotions as I read, and was surprised by how this novella had so much depth. I sympathized with Ingrid and John (her more than him) and cared about what happened to their story--as well as the other family members. With themes of forgiveness and faith, it's a good Christmas story.

As always the writing here is top notch & the characters are so believable. As with all of Warren's other books I found it hard to put this one down. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series in the coming weeks. I hope that at some point they start making Susan May Warren's books into movies!!

DonnaGeorgiaAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Christian novellaMay 3, 2016DonnaGeorgiaAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I love this novella. My first book I have read by Susan May Warren. Won't be my last. A family orientated story of love, faith, tragedy, new beginnings and hope. Well written with lovable characters.
A year later after a devastating fire John and Ingrid Christiansen find themselves as empty nesters. A new beginning for them and each of their children. They are dealing with memories of the past, a sick pet and a sick family member. With the holidays coming John plans a surprise trip to Paris for Ingrid as this will be the first Christmas without all the family being together. However due to a number of circumstances they are not able to go. As problems rise with their children and their marriage John wonders why he is unable to fix things.
Will they be able to heal and find happiness again? Will they trust in God and let Him lead them to the future He has planned for them?
This book will bring tears to your eyes at times but is a great read. I recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this novella from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.

I'm thrilled that I did. Several life lessons are woven in a beautiful short story.
The characters seem so real, and this book pulled me in from the start. The storyline is a totally believable one...and I venture to say most of us can relate to parts of this story. The story of how two partners in a marriage find that somewhere along the way they lost sight of God and each other. This book was a treat to read.
"... Our children are destined to leave us from the moment they're born. And the paths they walk are theirs, not ours. We can only give them a place to come home, stop in, find comfort. But we can't walk their journey for them. Eventually they have to stand before God by themselves." Evergreen by Susan May Warren
Treat yourself to a sweet, but poignant read.
