| Title: Evangelization or Colonization? By: Analzira Nascimento Format: Paperback Number of Pages: 108 Vendor: Fortress Press Publication Date: 2022 | Dimensions: 9.00 X 6.00 (inches) Weight: 2 pounds ISBN: 1506489001 ISBN-13: 9781506489001 Series: Global Voices: Latin America Stock No: WW489001 |
Based on many years of cross-cultural work in Angola, Analzira Nascimento reconsiders mission, especially in countries marked by Western colonialization. Imagine Christian mission without the dichotomies of us and them, mission that is relational and dialogical. The book addresses these questions and reimagines participation in Gods mission as a meeting of strangers brought together by the work of the Holy Spirit, who moves people to participate in Gods mission in a world marred by suffering and injustice.
Analzira Pereira do Nascimento is a mission worker with the Brazilian Baptist Convention's World Mission Board (KMM) and served in Angola for seventeen years, during the civil war. She is a Doctor of Religious Sciences at the São Paulo Methodist University, collaborates with the Brazilian Association of Transcultural Mission (AMTB) and works in the Água Branca Baptist Church, São Paulo, in community projects with local community mission workers. She travels widely encouraging young people to take up a vocation in mission.
