Author/Artist Review

Author: Cindy McIntyre
Submitted: November 10, 2018

Tell us a little about yourself.  I lost my mother sudden at the age of twenty-nine. She died of a stroke and I spent much time blaming God, while dealing with my grief. Anger took hold, and I waved in faith. My father turned to me for much of his care, so I suddenly became a caregiver while dealing with our sorrow. I wrote my mother "Dear Mom" letters as a way to heal. In 2017, I also lost my father. This prompted me begin writing my father letters as well. I began to uncover so much about my parents. My mothers diary explained the childhood abuses she suffered. Day after day, I realized my parent's story was worthy to be shared. Little miracles of faith appeared to me and I was led to begin to write our story...

What was your motivation behind this project?  Angels are real and gift miracles of faith! I was compelled with courage to share my stories and write them into a book when I found tiny treasures once belonging to my mom. This was a story I felt my story could resonate with the hearts of many readers.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope that readers hearts will be touched by the testimony of my mother's life, and her fait. She overcame so much in her life to become a loving, and Christian mother. No matter what adversities we face in our lives, we can overcome through love and faith.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  My life just continues to be blessed because of this project. Although I am a shy high school teacher of nineteen years, I am learning that like my mother, I can lean on God to guide me and find a path to heal my grief. I sought ways to volunteer at a grief center in my state, and help others through their own grief.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  The greatest influences in my life have been my parents. I have always loved writing non-fiction stories and my family has always seemed to be my favorite topic.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I write from the heart and hope that I might help others.
