Perfect for studying.

Warning! I am a Premillennial Dispensational Christian. I give the warning not because I'm going to give a bad review for this Bible but rather I think a fairly positive one! Now, I know I'm not supposed to give a good review to a Bible that has Reformist slant to it, but on the whole I believe the Reformed writers for various parts of the ESV Study Bible, who do not like the Dispensational position, actually held their fire!

Dispensationalist who got the University of Oxford Press study Bibles are going to be very surprised to see that a Crossway Bible of a similar price is going to match the quality of build that they have in their Bibles. Yes, a little downside, it would have been nice if there was a ribbon marker for the Crossway Bible. But, I think it'd be a waste any more time to mention anymore about the good build quality of this Study Bible.

I do want to point out that the makers of the ESV Study Bible did try to seriously to recognize the existence of Dispensational thought. You will find (not all of?) these efforts on the pages of:

Pages 2456-2458 (Especially the last page!)

There are parts in the back of this Study Bible I like such as the section on the Clarity of Scripture.

I like the way the Book of Noah was handled, and the commentator for the Book of Zachariah at least recognized there were other opinions -- though one should look at a Dispensational Study Bible to see those opinions.

I would recommend this Study Bible for its maps and illustrations, let alone for many of its comments, which were after all, written by conservative Christians!

I'm very excited with this bible; it makes my bible study times really refreshing and thorough. Its not confusing; just very well laid out and thorough with the extensive introduction to each book and the references. It's a great choice for all interested in indepth bible study.

this is, by far, the most thorough study Bible available. the construction quality is A1. The maps are plentiful and useful. the articles are scholarly but accessible and relevant. The introductory material for each book is generous in volume with well balanced perspectives from various scholars. excellent for both academics and lay reader.

I loved this bible so much over the years I bought this second copy for my wife. She is now also enjoying it with all the additional study resources included. One of the best study bibles there is. The notes are wonderful, and the theological articles and biblical teaching excellent. If i could only have one study bible, this would be the one.
