This is exactly what I was looking for! I really like the single column, larger print and the space for notes in the margins. Excellent value for the price and a very pretty cover.

I had been searching for years to find a Journaling method that fit my personal needs. I've tried separate notebooks and journals and have purchased just about every Journaling Bible that has hit the market. I want to spend my time in the Word reading to connect with God and it is important to me that I can note the impressions given to me regarding particular passages, right in the margins where they apply. It was not helpful for me to have separate notebooks or journals that I never referred back to. The other Journaling Bibles I've purchased fell short of my mark because the print was too small and I focused so much on trying to "read the small text" that it impaired my ability to "hear impressions." The 9-point type font is the right size for my 65-year-old eyes and the "cream" colored paper reduces glare somewhat. I'd hate to see it "improved" with thicker paper as it would make this Bible much too heavy. In my opinion, it's excellent just as it is. I started a read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan with this Bible on January 1st and I am very pleased with it. So far everything I want to do during my quiet time readings is possible with this Bible. I make notations, write out impressions, note songs that come to mind and even write out special prayers when I am led to do so. I am not an artist so that isn't my focus although I doodle occasionally. I use only micron pens and colored pencils and have no bleed-through. Like I said, I'm not an artist so any mild shadowing occurring does not bother me. I'm much more excited about having just one book in front of me (and I use my computer for research and dictionary look-ups). This Journaling Bible works for me -- I even take it to church with me instead of switching back and forth to a "church Bible" like I used to. I do plan on buying more of these when I find them on sale since I want to use them as "yearly" Bibles.

I wanted this bible to be my go-to bible that I could write all my notes in and one day pass onto my daughter. It is pretty and I think it will be durable but the pages are too thin. I expected a jounaling bible to have better quality pages. These are so thin that you can see the text from the next page through them. I dont mean you can see the text from the back of the page, I mean the next page. I'll continue using my other non-journaling ESV study bible.
