Penny of Springfield5 Stars Out Of 5Gospel of JohnMay 18, 2015Penny of SpringfieldQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is the perfect size. And I love this translation for those who are new to the Word of God. I have used other less expensive pocket Bibles, but the print was so small that they were practically useless - especially for the homeless who often do not have eyeglasses. And with the new reduced price, they are affordable. To aid my distribution, I have a seasonal wreath on my front door and the center of it has a cross with the words to John 3:16 printed on it. I love to peek at visitors reading the verse before they ring my doorbell. So I keep a stack of these Gospels of John just inside my front door and the conversation is easy to start (because they've just read the verse on the outside of my front door). I first prep each book by putting a Post-It flag on the page and highlighting John 3:16 in yellow. And the book is easy to give away because it is on a table just inside my door. I also keep some in my car glove box (with a $5 bill and a tract inside each) to hand out to people who are begging for a few bucks at stop lights.
BibleMan2 Stars Out Of 5Great translation ... butJuly 23, 2012BibleManQuality: 5Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1We give away gospels of John in ministry and have used NIV for years at about .50 cents each (in lots of 300). The copy is small enough to actually fit in a shirt pocket.
This ESV product is oversize (6"') and, at 2.99 each, way overpriced! Help us to use your product. The marketing has not caught up with this excellent translation. :-(
Mark YeartyGender: male5 Stars Out Of 5November 10, 2009Mark YeartyGender: maleIt's perfect! The only thing that would be better is if Crossway made individual books available for other books of the Bible.
