The ESV Commentary Volume 2 is a great title on the biblical books of Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, and Ruth. The title covers these four books in a scholarly and yet readable style. After looking through this title, here's what I like:

- Scholarly and yet very readable and not so technical that could make the title harder to read and understand.

- Commentary and analysis is from a soundly conservative and traditional point of view.

- While the book is pretty thick (about 750 pages), the book is not very heavy and relatively easy to carry around.

- Includes a very helpful and comprehensive scripture index listing many Bible verses in other books connected to the passages being studies.

- Includes to many other resources used in the research.

Overall, a great commentary for laypeople and ministers and recommended. I was given a review copy by Crossway in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
