Queen Esther was a lady who found herself becoming the delight of the King of Persia after she had been schooled for a year or so, along with other fair maidens in the land. She was a woman who had a good head on her shoulders, and she did not rest in her beauty; she allowed herself to be improved in looks, manners, learning, and anything that would make her an all-around queen of her day.
Through the life of Queen Esther, the author explores the nature of a godly woman in our society and what she should be today: the "feminine" as opposed to the "feminist." She reflects upon her own life and the social skills she learned while growing up as the daughter of a state senator from South Carolina. She writes about Esther as a woman of faith, to be honored and her life to be reflected upon to help today's woman be all that she can be in Christ Jesus, thus being a reflection of Him.
There is a section titled "Queen Esther's Reflection" at the end of each chapter, along with a study guide for finding how the lesson can be applied to the reader.
An extraordinary woman for her time, concerning herself with the cares of her time, teaching us a lesson for our own time. This woman's story is necessary for us to become the ladies of our time and for God's timing. -- Sharon I. Rideout, Christian Book Previews.com
