Tell us a little about yourself. I'm just an unschooled, ordinary man who loves the Word of God and has been privileged to have sat under some great teaching and has been influenced by some extraordinary men. I don't have any letters after my last name, nor have I been to seminary. However, I have taken advantage of some great learning opportunities and sat at the feet of men like Tozer, Spurgeon and Murray. One far more worthy than I has already taken for himself the title of the worst of sinners, so I am left to take the title of second worst. I have nothing to boast of. I'm just another prodigal who came home and received the overwhelming grace of the Father.
What was your motivation behind this project? The Bible is a book of such exquisite beauty, foreshadowing and prophecying of Jesus from the very beginning. It's absolutey amazing to see. However, so many people never catch even a glimpse of this beauty. Others have taken me into the word and helped me to see it for myself, so I just wanted to do the same for others.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope unbelievers will see for themselves the amazing beauty of the Scriptures. I hope they will become convinced of the truth of the Gospel and respond in faith. For believers, I hope they will go deeper into the Scriptures than ever before and develop a deeper love for both God and His Word as a result.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It was an absolute joy to write, mostly because I just spent a lot of time in the Word myself. I certainly learned even more as I wrote and studied. The way that this book got published was really an act of God in many ways. As a first-time author, I really didn't know what to do, but somehow someway everything came together quite remarkably. I felt like the children of Israel must have felt backed up against the Red Sea when a huge path opened up through it. It was pretty easy to know which way to go.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? All of Grace (Spurgeon), Eternity in Their Hearts (Richardson), Peace Child (Richardson), God's Promise to the Chinese, The Knowledge of the Holy (Tozer), The Case for Grace (Strobel), I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist (Turek), Evolution's Achilles Heels, God's Smuggler (Andrew), I Dared to Call Him Father (Sheikh), The Torn Veil (Esther), Betrayed (Telchin), God's Samarai (Prange), Miracle of Miracles (Nevisa), Project Pearl
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My attitude with this book is, "Lord, here are my five loaves and two fish. If I keep them for myself, it's probably just one meal for a teenage boy. So, I offer it to You to do with whatever You will." I pray He multiplies it and blesses many.
