Product Description

Escape to Grizzly Mountain
Jimmy, a young boy trying to gain acceptance from his peers, is horrified when he sees a circus trainer abusing a bear cub. One of the circus employees tells Jimmy there is a magic cave in the hills nearby that can transport people to another time, and that maybe he can use it to help the bear. 95 minutes. Rated G. 1999.

Courage Mountain
In the bitter chill of winter, over snow-covered mountains and against all odds, one fearless young girl will risk everything to guide her friends to safety. Fifteen-year-old Heidi leaves her beloved grandfather, her childhood sweetheart, and her cherished Swiss mountains to attend an Italian boarding school run by a kind headmistress. But when World War I breaks out, Heidi and her classmates are torn from their serene surroundings. Fearing for their lives, they escape on foot through the countryside...and embark on a daring trek across the treacherous, frozen Alps towards the safety of Heidi's girlhood home. 98 minutes. Rated PG. 1990.

Escape To Grizzly Mountain: Could definitely do without all the references to the spirit world and traveling through time. There's really nothing Christian about this movie so I don't why CBD sells it. That notwithstanding, the whole thing is pretty lame and not very believable.

Courage Mountain: This wasn't terrible per se, but it has very little to do with any original Heidi movie. She's older now and off to a boarding school. Charlie Sheen as the now older sheep herd just isn't believable. He was about 25 when this was made, but his character is supposed to be more like 17. On the other hand, the Heidi character (and actress) is more like 14. In addition to their being much closer in age in the original Heidi movies, any sort of love interest between a 25 year old and a 14 year old just doesn't come off--other than as perhaps a crush on her part, which I don't think is the movie's intention. It's just awkward.

I got this for Courage mountain which is a nice family movie. The other one was okay except for it's teaching of native indian beliefs.
