Life, for most of us, feels like a movie weve arrived to forty minutes late.
Sure, good things happen, sometimes beautiful things. But tragic things happen too. What does it mean? We find ourselves in the middle of a story that is sometimes wonderful, sometimes awful, usually a confusing mixture of both, and we havent a clue how to make sense of it all. No wonder we keep losing heart.
We need to know the rest of the story.
For when we were born, we were born into the midst of a great story begun before the dawn of time. A story of adventure, of risk and loss, heroism . . . and betrayal. A story where good is warring against evil, danger lurks around every corner, and glorious deeds wait to be done. Think of all those stories youve ever lovedtheres a reason they stirred your heart. Theyve been trying to tell you about the true Epic ever since you were young.
There is a larger story And you have a crucial role to play.
John Eldredge is an author, a counselor, and a teacher. He is also president of Ransomed Heart, a ministry devoted to helping people discover the heart of God, recovering their own hearts in Gods love, and learning to live in Gods kingdom. Kk1 Stars Out Of 5Sorry, JohnSeptember 25, 2015KkQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 1Many people say that this book is an "essential read" and really helps people to understand God's story. I don't know if this is just me, but I found that I was so bored that I was not able to draw any information or meaning from this book. I was excited to read this book, but I was disappointed to find that there was poor theology in this book. I also found that John Eldredge made too many references to his favorite books and movies which got old too fast and, unless you are familiar with these books and movies, were difficult to connect to the content of the book. This book was a complete waste of my time.

John's writing and ministry of encouragement is so needed in the church today. His writing has sparked a new energy in my walk with Jesus and a stronger desire to see the broken hearted healed and the captives set free! Waking the Dead was my introduction to John's writing. Keep writing brother and God Bless.

The main point is that we are fighting an enemy and if we don't realize it then we don't understand why we are having problems. I was given one and I have now bought many.
