Prior to reading this book, I had never heard of Carolanne Miljavac, but now I will be checking out her website. "Odd(ly) Enough" is categorized in the spiritual growth section, but it's so much more than that. Part memoir, part call to action, it is Christian nonfiction but appropriate for anyone looking for that something more out of life, knowing that they need to make a change even if they're fighting it. Rife with spiritual truths and Scripture, this book will have you both laughing and crying. The tone is very conversational, sprinkled with southern dialect, and Miljavac's vulnerability and sharing of her own testimony and personal life stories make this feel like sitting down with a tell-it-like-it-is, hilarious but brutally honest friend for coffee instead of reading a work of nonfiction. There are no earth-shattering Biblical revelations here; instead, there is an empathy and a challenge to really live and love in this broken world and to let go and trust God with everything. Miljavac's message resonates deeply with those of us who are perfectionists and who deal with ongoing life or health issues. After all, "[i]t is in our greatest moments of imperfection, when we are broken and humbled, aware of our need for God, that He comes in and shows us the beauty in our ashes. So everything that we think makes us an outcast is actually what makes us...oddly...enough." I would definitely recommend this book to all women and particularly to those who are struggling with any kind of adversity--and really, isn't that all of us?

The title of this book catches your eye and makes you wonder...is the way God made me "enough" to make me special? Am I worthy to be His? Will I always live up to His plans?

We all have these thoughts and especially in today's world, we need to know and understand how God views us and just how truly special we are in His eyes. Despite all our shortcomings, faults, foibles, and quirks, we can be 100% HIS! By His grace we can move through our challenges and be who He really created us to be.

I look forward to sharing this book with my college-age daughter, who often feels like she doesn't measure up or fit in. I trust Carolanne Miljavac will encourage her to be herself...just the way God wants her to be!

This book gave me a renewed look at my own self worth. I liked how the author, Carolanne Miljavac, used her personal trials and her own conviction to let me know that it's ok that I doubt myself sometimes. This book is a refreshing look at one woman's path to know God. I will definitely be rereading Oddly Enough, again and again

Carolanne is so open and honest in this book. She talks about the hard things she has been through in life and how they have ultimately led her to a life serving God. This book is perfect for anyone who feels like they don't fit in, those who have struggled through any situation in life, or those who just need a good reminder that God never, ever leaves us. She's not afraid to speak the truth and I love this book for that very reason! It will be one that I read multiple times to make sure I absorb everything she shares! It made me laugh, but also made me cry. Definitely worth the money!!
