This is a wonderful, truthful book that all women should read and pass on to the younger women in their lives. What a book about encouragement that made me smile at every chapter I read. It tells about what the issues that you are thinking along with how other women are thinking about the same things. I couldn't believe as I read this book of how many times I said, I feel the same way this women does or I think the same things these women do... it was an eye opener that makes me just want to keep this book on my bedside table and read each morning. just to start my day out right. I think Barbara should do a daily devotional based on this book, it would be awesome!
I recommend this book for all women to read. What an outstanding look at today's world and how we put ourselves down for nothing. It is a great book for doing a women's group because it has questions and journal questions at the end of each chapter. LOVED THIS!!!

Wow~ what an encouraging book for all women of all ages, shapes and sizes. It is so true ~we are so kind to other women. Yet~ we are so unkind to ourselves. We all have those voices in our head saying: "I am not pretty enough" " I am not good enough." I am not thin enough." We belittle ourselves when we fail as wives, mothers and friends. We self loathe ourselves when we can't loose weight or conquer our worst fears. Why? Where did this start? Why are we so mean to ourselves?
Barbara Roose answers these questions and more in her newly released book, Enough Already. She states in her book that we all know what is on the inside matters most~ yet the outside does matter too. We look in the mirror and nitpick our every flaw. Yet~ the Bible tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
This book is packed full of wisdom and knowledge that every woman needs to read and study. It is written much like a Bible Study. At the end of each chapter is a Beauty Mark. It's kind-of like a little piece of advice. After that is the group discussion questions and journaling questions. It would be a great personal Bible Study but I am thinking a small coffee group would be so much fun. In fact my wheels are already turning just who I would like to take on this little journey with me to win the ugly struggle with beauty in my own heart.
I really enjoyed Barbara L. Roose's book, "Enough Already." This is an excellent book for individual reading, but also for a small group to read and discuss together. This is filled with so many thought-provoking points and so many reminders of what true beauty really is. Barbara makes so many valid points throughout the book and I am looking forward to reading back through it and really taking my time reading through it this time. There are personal reflection questions, bulleted lists, tips and group discussion questions throughout this book; I loved these aspects as I was really drawn into the book and it became very personal to me. This also makes me more aware of the message that my daughter and other girls receive on a daily basis. I highly recommend this book.
First, I would like to extend a heartfelt Thank you to Barbara Roose and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Enough Already" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
Enough Already by Barb Roose is 20 chapters of wisdom, Scripture and helpful discussion questions to be used in a group or for personal reflection. There are also journaling activities that can help you put your thoughts and feelings into some kind of order and perhaps dispel lies that you believe about who you are.
Within these pages, I met a friend who shares many of my life experiences. Its nice to know Im not alone in this battle. Its nice to be reminded that I am beautifully made AND I am beautiful! It was nice to see women in the Bible and their strengths and know that I am created by the same God Who loves me just as well.
This book made me laugh and cry and see myself and my God in a new light. This is a book I will recommend and it will become a gift I give to all the gals in my life.
Although this book is written for a Christian worldview, it is certainly NOT only for Christian women. Anyone like me who has faced down body and beauty issues for most of their life will benefit from this straightforward, entertaining, witty and provocative look at the ongoing struggle we've all had with beauty. I can't recommend this book more highly.
