To my surprise, I read a description of the word meditate from Joshua 1:8. The original Hebrew word for meditate is hagah, and it means meditate, utter, speak.1
As Joshua prepared to lead the children of Israel across the Jordan, God instructed him to focus on and speak the Word day and night. God also made a special point to say that this instruction was given to Joshua so he would not only be able to keep His commandments but also accomplish the task and be prosperous and successful.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Do you struggle to make the connections between your challenging circumstances and Gods promises in the Bible? Do you believe angels exist and people still encounter them?
