This first installment introduces former Amish Joel Byler, his English girlfriend, and the Amish father and other family members Joel left behind. He has so far kept his Amish past from his girlfriend and really seems to have no use for his family until he finds himself in financial trouble.
While this is an interesting story, the serial novel approach is not one of my favorites. If that format works for you, I'm sure Wanda Brunstetter fans will enjoy following the Bylers.
Thanks to the author and publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Annie4 Stars Out Of 5The English Son - The Amish Millionaire #1May 17, 2016AnnieQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I have read almost all of Wanda Brinstetter's books, and have been a fan of hers for years. This book is the first in a series of books about Joel Byler and his family. Joel represents the current mindset of so many of todays younger generation, he wants to get what he desires quickly even if it costs him in the long run. He is willing to lie, back stab, and deceive to cover his actions, and seems to be able to justify his decisions based on expected outcomes, not reality. His apparent actions do not reflect the giving, loving attitude of humility, and obedience the Amish try to instill in their walk of faith. I honestly disliked his character, but I know Mrs.Brunstetter, and her daughter in law are teaching through the series, how actions affect others, and how restitution can come in stressful family situations. It was a very fast reaod, and worth the time to go through it. I have read the next book in the series, and will read the entire series as it becomes available to me. I would recommend this to others who want to read books based on good values, and that have a refreshing lack of profanity.
