Tell us a little about yourself. I am a proud father, engaged husband, combat veteran, avid hunter, rookie sourdough bread maker, and a bleeding purple vikings fan.
What was your motivation behind this project? I love adventure and always need new challenges. If I'm not challenged, I'm bored and then lose all drive towards purpose. That has been a big part of living a life of destiny. We are always running to someothing or running from something. I think shame drives us to run from who we use to be, have come from, or where we feel stuck. Running to something takes the eyes off the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. And that is a big motivation for me in helping people find a life of destiny.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want everyone who read this book to gain the practical steps of how to live a life of destiny. Through the understanding or relentless pursuit I am praying that you will build what it takes to have destiny. To grow in counting the cost, paying the sacrifice, building the will and determination to get after it.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was impacted through losing the edits to my manuscript and having to redo 2 weeks of very hard work. I had to put the actual steps I taught on in this book into practice. It was like a test for me and I am grateful to everyone who has poured into me to make that resiliency available in my life.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? John Eldridge and Mark Batterson are huge inspirations for me as modern men who are tremendous authors and leaders. I also look to Teddy Roosevelt, George Washington, and Sir Ehrnest Shakleton as examples of faith who never quit.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am praying for you everyday, that this book will transform your life.
