Publisher's Description

Angels have long fascinated humanity. From books to movies, from TV shows to video games, angels are portrayed in inconsistent and sometimes imaginative ways. What is biblical and really true about these heavenly beings.

In this follow-up to her bestselling Angels Are for Real, author Judith MacNutt helps you separate fact from fiction. With warmth and insight, she shows you
· the scriptural foundation for angels
· their purposes here and in heaven

· their role in spiritual warfare

This book is full of amazing encounters and inspiring stories. You will come away encouraged and awed by God's provision for us through angels!

In this book, Judith MacNutt uses dozens of personal, true stories of angel encounters as well as Scripture, to demonstrate the many ways that angels are present and active in our lives.

The stories fill a wide range and include miraculous healings, protection, guidance, comfort, encouragement, and communication from God. Some angel encounters feature visions of angels; others do not. Each is unique and inspirational.

The author uses Scriptural examples, too, to demonstrate the power of angels among us. Angels were with mankind from the beginnings and they will be present at the end of days. In between, they will also carry out Gods missions on earth.

Our sense of divine madness which gives us the faith to believe without proof tells us that angels exist and they are with us at all times; in times of trouble, joy, fear, and delight. Angels love to worship God, so be tuned in for angelic chorus when praising in song or prayer.

I was given a free copy of this book for the purpose of honest review and am pleased to recommend it highly for readers of all ages or for group discussion.

This book is filled with hundreds of short paragraphs of descriptive encounters with angels. You can pick it up and open to any page and read it. It does give chapters and bible verses to accompany the short stories that follow them. While reading the encounters that people submitted, all I could think of was that the short angel encounter stories would be those that you see on a 365 day daily desk calendars. It was an ok read, but if you are looking for something of deep meaning and sign then you are not going to get it from this read. If you want a quick fluffy read and think, yes that could be an angel (which many stories felt that way), then you might enjoy this book.

I would recommend this to those that really don't want a deep heavy read and have an open mind that this format may not be what you expected.

Let me begin by saying I didn't finish the book.

I chose to review this book for the Chosen Books blogger review program because I was hoping to see some sort of biblical basis for the stories of angels that the cover promises. I was looking forward to reading the theological perspective on angelic encounters alongside some truly unusual stories. At the very least, I thought, the stories will be heartwarming.

Unfortunately, I was wrong on both counts.

Maybe I'm just a skeptic. Maybe I watched too much Touched by an Angel as a kid and now I'm desensitized. But a book filled with accounts of "angels" that could easily be explained by exhausted hallucinations or other totally normal, standard, every day sorts of happenings is bad enough. A book that uses those stories as their own basis for so called facts that we can learn about God is downright nauseating.

I do believe in angels. I do believe in miracles. I have experienced both for myself. However, I find this book to be so sickeningly full of itself that I couldn't even finish it. Forcing myself through the first chapter was like gagging down cold mashed cauliflower.

Of course, I'm also not the "falling out" type. If you are, you'd probably enjoy this book. If you think that every coincidence is an act of God (or Satan, if you end up not liking the results), or if you prefer to chalk the inexplicable up to divine intervention, or if those things we all think we see from the corner of our eye make you uneasy, this may be the book for you.

But if you've experienced a real, hard life where God has shown up for you in a very real way without sending some winged, robed rescuer, you probably won't be able to tolerate this book any more than I have.
