We love this book. It is well written with great descriptive writing that helps you to picture the events of the book. It is a historical fiction so the author does add in items that are not in the Bible but does not change the important parts of the story. I was excited to find out from my parents that the author was actually my first librarian many years ago. So glad we chose to read this book.

A "nice" work of fiction and giving a perspective of daily life in Jerusalem at the time of Christ. Book would be best for children and teens. However, the reader must understand it is fiction and the events are not Biblical although interesting.

What a wonderful story! I used this as a read-aloud with my children (aged 10, 7 and 4) and they begged me not to stop. Living history, describing in vivid detail the dramatic events of Jerusalem 2000 year ago from the point of view of a young boy. I would recommend this book to anyone - especially those with children!

My book came in the mail Saturday, I finished the book before church and took the book with me to church to give to one of my friends. Then it goes to the Paster and on to others. It is one of the best books I have read in years. You feel like you are right there in his boots (that are too big for his feet) a must read for the young also. wayne braswell
