At the wedding altar, all of us envision our marriages as lifelong journeys with our ultimate companions. However, between work and kids we struggle to maintain a relationship that does not leave us feeling empty.
Lonely, isolated, hurt, and added pressure to meet daily obligations, our marriage relationship too often suffers. After a while, we find ourselves living in two different worlds. We wonder if we can ever experience the one flesh relationship that the Bible talks about.
God desires us to enter into an intimate and deep relationship with Him like that between a husband and a wife. His design of marriage is awesome, and He created marriage to reflect His love, unity, and desire for us to be restored.
But what do we change? What should our marriages look like? How do we refocus our hearts and attitudes toward each other?
Journey with us as we re-examine what God intended for marriage and pursue a path to renewal. Find healing along the way as you also examine your relationship with God and as you learn to love as husband and wife. Draw nearer to Him as a couple. Go from feeling empty to experiencing the fullness of life that God desires for us.

Tell us a little about yourself. Kim & I have been married for 24 years and have four children. Born and raised in California, we moved to Hawaii when we felt called by God to leave a secure job and begin a new life seeking to strengthen their marriage and family life. Moving to Hawaii was the beginning of their faith journey to rebuild their empty marriage. God showed Himself faithful over and over again, providing an amazing community for our family, and experiencing a renewed marriage.
What was your motivation behind this project? From early on, our marriage contained unresolved conflicts. Walls had built up between us, allowing the relationship to grow cold. Although we appeared to be a happy couple united with a vision for our kids, in reality, Kim and I were emotionally isolated. It was easier to relate to each other as parents than as a loving couple.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? As one couple who have experience healing and renewal, it is our desire to share our journey and help others experience a revival in their marriage. We hope our book will provide encouragement and convince you that renewal in your relationship as husband and wife is waiting for you
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Discovering how Gods longs for a relationship with me and loves me completely. I can't love someone unless I am convinced that I am loved. Knowing how much Christ loves me allows me to love my wife unconditionally.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The passion expressed between a husband and wife in the Song of Solomon.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: You do not need to struggle to understand how to love and relate to each other as husband and wife. It is so confusing to many in this day and age. Good news! God created marriage not pop culture, and He demonstrated this incredible love relationship to us throughout the Bible.
