eet the New You, by Elisa Pulliam, is a 21 day plan to help women evaluate their priorities and lives, set goals, and embark on changes that will help them become more intentional in choosing goals and activities that line up with their priorities.

The plan is divided into four phases:

Phase 1 has the reader assess her current life and priorities. Each chapter includes Bible passages, lessons on a focused topic (making a life map, time usage, and evaluation of priorities), and follow-up questions and charts.

Phase 2 is devoted to self-assessment. It explains personality types and directs the reader to several online surveys for identifying personality types. It teaches about learning styles and and helps the reader identify her specific talents with the goal of helping her choose the best activities or commitments for her to focus on.

Phase 3, overcoming obstacles, identifies several areas that may be keeping women from living fulfilling lives, such as idols, comparison to others, and unforgiveness.

Phase 4 puts it all together and includes guidance for setting goals.

This is a helpful book for those who want to make changes in their lives. It was well organized and covered a lot of helpful topics. The chapter for most days didnt take longer than 30 minutes to complete, with the exception of those that required online quizzes. Personally, I didnt find it very applicable to my life at this time, because Im already familiar with my learning style, talents, personality and spiritual gifts. I am also fairly goal oriented and have learned to say, no to opportunities that arent right for me at a particular time. I think many women would find this book useful, though.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review. All opinions are my own.

If you have ever thought it would be great to hire a personal life coach to help you be the woman God intended you to be, this book is for you. Pulliam, a life coach and mentor, has written this book with the purpose of coming alongside you. She helps define what you want to build and then focuses on moving forward.

I really liked this book. Reading it (I think) was like having a life coach next to me. I've never had a personal life coach but I think working through this book is what it would be like.

Pulliam has a foundation of encountering God. Such a personal encounter is the only way we will know what God has for us and the direction we should be going.

She takes us through the key phases of life coaching, beginning with awareness. I drew a life map, did a time evaluation, did some prioritizing, and explored a life time-line. Next was finding out who I am. That began with what the Bible said about me, being in Christ. Then I looked at my personality type, my gifting and my talents. Pulliam provided links to free on-line assessment tools. Then I moved on to addressing obstacles. She even made me look at my possible idols. She provided tools to help me move forward and helped me write a vision statement and set goals.

I really appreciate all Pulliam has included in this book. In addition to instructive writing, she included activities and questions that helped me work through this process. I've started writing in a journal, as she recommended. I plan to go back and work through those questions from time to time.

Am I a new person after these twenty one days? Perhaps not, but I have taken the first steps. Pulliam reminds us this is a long journey and her book is a springboard to get us on our way. I have a feeling I will be going through this book many times in the future years as my life situation changes.

I highly recommend this book to any woman who wants to be the person God intended. You'll learn about yourself, what your passions are, what keeps you from moving forward, etc. You'll be given skills to overcome obstacles and you'll learn how to cast a vision for your future. I think you'll find that reading this book just might be the beginning of a great adventure.

Food for thought: Real change is possible as God continues lifelong transformative work in your heart, mind, body, and soul. (5)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of an independent and honest review.

I am half-way through this book, and already it is having an impact on my life! The conversational style makes it easy to read, and the places to write and reflect are deeply impactful. I have already ordered a book for each of the teen girls in the Bible Study I am leading, and I cannot wait to begin this with them. What a treasure in today's world where Christian women need to constantly be equipped to become the women Christ has created us to be rather than to be crushed and formed by the world around us. THANK YOU, Elisa, for writing this and allowing the Lord to work through your book to reach countless women. Here's to meeting the NEW of every woman who reads this book!

If you're feeling stuck or needing change but don't know where to start..

Elisa Pulliam's book " Meet the New you" will give you practical tools for REAL LIFE change!

What I love about this book is how down to earth and transparent Elisa is, so that you understand she has walked this out in her own life, sharing what she learned that works and brings about real change.

Her heart is to lead you to the ONLY source that can ultimately bring about true transformation~ God's grace & truth!

Leaving a legacy for our children and the next generation is my passion and a goal Elisa has through "Meet the New you" by understanding how God made us each unique with different learning styles, this book will help you understand maybe for the first time ~Why you do things the way you do, and how that's ok because it's how your wired :)

Meet the New you has great advice with links and downloads galore to start you on your way to getting UN-STUCK!

By the end of this book you will have a new friend (in Lisa) for the journey and have met the one who redeems us all (Jesus)!

I recommend "Meet the New you" to anyone & everyone~ even if you don't necessarily feel stuck the ideas and downloads will help you organize your thoughts and life in ways that are very helpful.

    Be blessed'

    Linda
