Product Description

Since 1914 Cambridge has published The Elements of New Testament Greek, a best-selling textbook for scholars and students of the Bible. The original book by Nunn was replaced and succeeded in 1965 by J. W. Wenham's book of the same title; now Jeremy Duff has produced a new book to continue this long-established tradition into the twenty-first century. Learning Greek is a journey of many steps. In this book each of these steps is explained clearly, and reviewed using questions and exercises. Lessons are ordered so the most important aspects of Greek are learnt first and the vocabulary consists of the most commonly occurring words in the New Testament. Hundreds of examples cover every book of the New Testament and there is a New Testament passage to translate in almost every chapter. Over 1500 practice questions and exercises with answers are provided.

I used Wenham's book when I studied new testament greek in Bible collage, but the book got lost. Now, several years later I ordered this book and I think it's brilliant!

The only thing I miss is to have each chapter's vocab collected at the end of the book, making it easy to go through all the words you've learnt so far.

If you want to learn NT Greek - this is your help! So worth the money!

According to my pastor, who is teaching us Greek using this text, the price at CBD for this volume is quite good. Speaking as a student, I am delighted with the text as it is positively contributing to my study of Greek.

Duff has presented materials in this book a good learning system that suits a teacher and student. The exercises provided after each chapter helps students to practice so well what they have learned. the simple way, with throughly and NT rooted examples given to illustrate the point is remarkable in this book. The use of grammar and adequate vocabulary refreshes the students' and teacher's grammatical skills, not only in Greek but also in English grammar. My students and I enjoy working with this book to help us read the NT text in its original language!
