Elementary Greek, Year 2: Koine for Beginners, 2nd Edition is the primary textbook for the second year of Memoria Press' Elementary Greek curriculum, which is designed for grade 6. Thirty easy-to-use lessons include Greek Bible memory work, vocabulary, grammar lessons, translations, and review work. Lessons are addressed directly to the student with clear explanations and instructions, and are organized by week and day. Content reviews the alphabet and material from level one before progressing into instruction on the direct object, prepositions with the dative and accusative, article "the," conjunctions, the imperfect tense, deponent verbs, masculine nouns of the first declension, and more. Students will write out exercises in another notebook.
The workbook provides practice and application questions for each lesson and section given in the text. It features copywork for memory verses, declension charts to complete, translation exercises, vocabulary with regular drills, and creative reviews to help students build strong foundations for later study.
The test book includes 30 tests, each of which includes a variety of exercises. Students are asked to conjugate and translate verbs, translate words, write memory work, answer fill-in-the-blank questions on appropriate Greek usage, and more.
