I thought this was another interesting and engaging romantic suspense with a light Christian aspect. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense and thought the plot moved along at a good pace. However it was not quite as crisp as I would have liked and some of the time frames didn't quite add up. There was quite a lot of tension between Annie and Jon given their past but I enjoyed watching them reconnect and rekindle their feelings.

This book marks the beginning of the Annie Pederson series which is a spinoff of the old Rock Harbour series. Whilst set in the same location and with past characters making cameo appearances, it can nevertheless be enjoyed as a standalone. It ends with a happy for now but it looks like some things are going to be carried over to upcoming books in the series. I look forward to seeing what lies in store for Annie and her family next time around.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book was SO good!! And I can't tell you how happy I am to realize it's the first book in a new series (yay for me, for starting a series in order for a change)--and still set in Rock Harbor, MI! I've loved Coble's other books set there, and so enjoyed seeing some familiar characters. While readers won't need to have read those first, they are a fantastic Easter egg for those who have. :)

Coble continues to prove she is a master of romantic suspense with _Edge of Dusk_. I was kept guessing until the end (a particularly nice change after some other books I've read lately, ha!), and a few loose ends here will--I hope--carry through to at least the next book. There's plenty of material there, for sure! (And yet, yay for the most pressing questions to be answered, haha.)

    Excellent, excellent read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I enjoyed this Christian suspense read! There is a lot going on here, and there is a beautiful setting, one that should bring peace of mind, but there is evil lurking!

The story starts with a body washing up, and then a cold case of missing teens surfaces, and also it has been twenty-four years, that Annie Pederson's sister went missing.

Jon Dustin is also back after being gone for nine years! Suspicion revolves around this talented Surgeon, he is a suspect in the missing girls, he said he just gave them a ride?

Wow! So much going on here, and some answers come, and yes, there are a lot of surprises. I am hoping that more answers are revealed in the coming books, I felt like I was left hanging with some of my questions!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

I love Colleen Coble books and eagerly awaited this one to come out so I could read it, especially since it began a new series. I would have given it 5 stars except for two things. One, the main character's (Annie) daughter, Kylie. She was only 9 years old, but she was obnoxious, undisciplined and disrespectful. Yes, she lost her father and grandparents, but Annie never seemed to correct her when she acted out or disrespected Jon. Really, when children act like that, I have no tolerance for it! You'd imagine that Annie would have been a better mother. Then, two, Annie was constantly trying to make her jerk father look better than he was! That was irritating! The more you learned about him (he was dead in the book), the more you couldn't understand her "devotion" in the book! There were a couple other things about the police work that didn't seem quite right either. I did like Jon's character though! Overall, a nice story but not the best I've read of Ms. Coble's. I will still read the rest of the series though!

Multi-layered plot and a good faith thread

It was fun returning to Rock Harbor in Colleen Coble's newest book. The story grabbed me at the beginning when Annie's younger sister was kidnapped. Fast forward 24 years, Annie is now 33 years old and is a law enforcement ranger. Her first love, Jon, has returned after 9 years away to ready his grandfather's home to sell. The different mysteries, twists and turns kept me interested. I liked the characters ok, but there were some parts in the story that felt a bit unbelievable to me. I thought the info on celiac and gluten free diets was a bit overdone. I did appreciate the faith thread in the story.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who likes Christian Romantic Suspense.
