Rainingviolets5 Stars Out Of 5Easy Grammar is Awesome!January 23, 2017RainingvioletsQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was struggling to find a grammar curriculum for my dyslexic daughter. Someone suggested Easy Grammar and it was the perfect fit for her! The exercises may seem simplistic, but they build on themselves in such a gentle way that the student doesn't even realize they've learned so much by the end of the book. The method of eliminating prepositions in order to find the subject/predicate is genius...way easier than the traditional method of teaching grammar. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the 2nd grade book...as you continue on through the grades you will be amazed at how easily your child will learn grammar. Also, the lessons are so self-explanatory that you will rarely need anything but the student workbook version (at least for the 1st couple of years). If you do choose to purchase the teacher addition, you can simply copy the student pages out of the teacher book rather than purchasing the separate workbook. This program may be more expensive than other grammar programs, but the method is so unique and effective that it's worth the extra cost. My daughter went on to impress her college professors with her understanding of grammar...all learned through the Easy Grammar curriculum.
HSL13 Stars Out Of 5No need both Teacher Guide & WorkbookJuly 12, 2013HSL1I just received these in the mail and was excited to open it up and get my hands on it. Well, if you purchase the Daily Guided Teaching & Review it has all the Student Workbook pages in it that can be reproduced. So, unless you just don't want to photocopy the student pages within the teacher guide, I wouldn't spend the money on the workbook.
Also, the teacher guide only has a few notes regarding lessons, not a whole lot to go on, but notes each lesson and what you should be reinforcing. However it does have an answer guide in the back.
If you know grammar well, I'd recommend just getting the workbook, it's cheaper and self-explanatory, and if your child didn't understand it you could easily explain the grammar rule.
All in all, I'd only spend my money on ONE book, either the Teacher Guide or the Workbook, NOT BOTH!
ppodfamily1 Stars Out Of 5Just awful!November 3, 2012ppodfamilyQuality: 3Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1Wow, I wanted something simple for my son - however they did not put lines at every number to rewrite the sentence - this was frustrating for him. It is supposed to be rote work and but it simplistic to the point of not worth our time. We went back to FLL and find it much more enriching. Now I"m stuck with a $20 book I can't even return. Don't spend your money on this!

(NOT TRUE - NO PAGES WITH ANSWERS OVERLAID, ALL ANSWERS ARE IN BACK) "To the teacher" notes address areas of importance and teaching tips. (THE 'TO THE TEACHER NOTES' ARE LESS THAN 2 1/2 PAGES IN THE WHOLE BOOK OF VERY BASIC POINTERS) A writing section is also included (NO WRITING SECTION. EACH EXERCISE REQUIRES MINIMAL COPY WORK). Workbook to teacher's text correlations are noted in the back. Tests included (NO TESTS AT ALL!!!). 180 lessons, indexed, softcover. Grade 2. Reproducible pages.
This is NOT a teaching text. The instructions for each lesson for the student are less than minimal. The teacher information is next to non-existent.
