Treenz5 Stars Out Of 5Gorgeous book!February 10, 2018TreenzQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Easter Love Letters from God: Bible Stories.Another treat from Glenys Nellist! I love this series of 'Love Letter' books and this one, like the others is fantastic. This time focusing stories on Jesus journey to the cross and resurrection, with beautiful letters from God to the reader reminding of God's great love through everything Jesus went through. It starts off with Jesus entering Jerusalem, then Jesus washing the disciple's feet, the last supper, gethsemane, crucifixion, burial and then resurrection.
These books are so precious! I highly recommend all of them - what a great way to bring alive stories of the Bible for children.
Please note that I was sent a copy of this book for purposes of review, but all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

tickmenotKansas CityGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5For the Rest of the StoryOctober 30, 2018tickmenotKansas CityGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Easter Love Letters from God: Bible Stories. If you are looking for a book about Easter than contains something more than chocolate rabbits and hard-boiled eggs, Easter Love Letters from God is for you. Despite the lack of candy, this volume is sure to become a well-loved favorite .
This great book is written for young children to explain the meaning of Holy Week, and help them understand the sacrifice Jesus made for all mankind. The underlying theme of the love God has for all of us, and the way Jesus demonstrated that love is clearly shown throughout the book.
Ms. Nellist has an enchanting style of writing Bible stories; she does it in a very understandable and memorable way. Fun things are included, too. This very child friendly book includes "love letters" --flaps that can be moved to show letters from God written for the reader. This unique addition to the story is sure to bring smiles to the faces of the little ones viewing the book.
Each page of the book has colorful illustrations that blend with the written story making it even more powerful. Additionally, a free download that goes with the book can be obtained by going to Glenys Nellist's website and searching under, An Invitation to Walk Through Holy Week With Me. It contains a scripture reading plan, daily prayers, conversation starters, and free activities.
Often Bible stories are told in a way that will appeal to adult ears. This narrative is written in a way that will make the story understandable for little children. The author is truly fulfilling Jesus' advice in Luke to "let the little children come to me, and don't stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." I highly recommend this 5-star book especially during the Easter season, but it is a great book to read with, or for children!

AmyL5 Stars Out Of 5Easter Love Letters From GodFebruary 21, 2018AmyLQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Easter Love Letters from God: Bible Stories.Steeped in scripture, Nellist has crafted a book that helps us share the story of Easter in an age-appropriate way.Easter Love Letters from God takes you from the Israelites shouting Hosana as Jesus rides in on a donkey to the super surprise of the resurrection.
My daughter and I sat down and read the book in one sitting. But this collection of seven Bible stories is also perfect to use as part of family devotions. Each story is based onscripture and told in language that even my little 3-year-old could understand. As we walked through the pages, Sarabeth was able to put back into words what I had just read to her.
I think my daughter's favorite part of the story is the letter from God. At the end of each story, Nellist has crafted a letter to be read to your child as though it's from God. Each letter helps your child understand how the story relates to them. Each time my daughter would lift the flap on the letter, and I began with "Dear Sarabeth" she would squeal in delight and say "It's a letter for me?!?"
As the story in the book progresses, the last letter gives your child an opportunity to respond to God in faith. It's a great way to share the gospel story with your child, and then give them a chance to say whether or not they want to live their life for God.
The last page of the book gives your child the space to write their own letter to God. It's a great way to help your child learn how to respond to what God is doing in their life as they learn to relate to the stories in the Bible.
I received a copy of this book from the author. This review is my own, honest opinion. -
Joianne Tennant5 Stars Out Of 5The Best Easter book I have seen for young children!March 4, 2023Joianne TennantQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Easter Love Letters from God: Bible Stories.I just received my order for this book, and I am right back here to order 2 more! This is without a doubt the very best book for children I have ever read about Easter! Every person who reads this, no matter their age, will be blessed by the message. I can't recommend it more. I was an early childhood teacher for 20 years. After that I was the Christian Education Director for our United Methodist Church. This book says exactly what we want young children to learn about Jesus, God and Easter.
