I must be honest and say that when I chose to review this book, I wasn't exactly sure if I would like it. I mean, I'm eclectic reader when it comes to Christian books....contemporary, thriller, suspense, historical, chick lit. You name, I'll try it. However, I just wasn't sure with this one. But, when I sat down to read it, I was quite surprised at the intensity of the story and the way it pulled me in! An up and down, in and out, twisty thrill ride that I won't soon forget!

David Winters takes his readers on a whirlwind ride (quite literally, since the main character, Antonio, is a Buber driver!) and delivers us to a spot that will leave us wondering what just happened and how can we get more of it. His characters are complex and well rounded, perfect for their roles in the book. This book really had me thinking about what kinds of things really do get talked about in a taxi cab or paid driver. I can't imagine it's easy to feel safe all the time!

I really liked Antonio and getting to know him. Mr. Winters made Antonio's character superbly unique and God really shined through him. One rider's confession makes Antonio's story fast paced and edge of your seat reading! Each page was something new to Antonio's story and really had me gripping my seat!

I definitely recommend this thrill ride to all! It's the first in a new series by a truly talented author and I am so glad that I took the chance on this interesting new read. It's 4 star worthy and I am looking forward to picking up book 2!

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from LitFuse Bloggers and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

After reading "Driver Confessional" you may rethink your next ride in a taxi or ride-share vehicle. Antonio is a ride-share driver working part-time to support his family and attend law school. As he listens to his travel companions during their ride in his vehicle, he will pray for them silently or with them if they so desire. Antonio has what you might call a traveling ministry. What he doesn't expect is that one of his riders would leave behind her briefcase after telling him she is concerned about the company she works for stating "I'm in a tricky situation...there could be permanent consequences for me" (p.9). Upon discovering the briefcase Antonio attempts to contact his female rider but to no avail so he googles her address and drives to her expensive house where he finds her dead. Lucky for Antonio, his brother, Rocco, is a cop. They both begin investigating the female rider's death in their own way. For Antonio it is listening to his riders' conversations and asking questions. This journey around Washington, DC in David Winters first book in a three part series. I found the writing style to be different and at times a bit slow but the underlying premise makes a great story. I received this complimentary copy from Litfuse to review and give my honest opinion.

Antonio is a Buber driver for Washington DC to support his family and put him through law school. One evening he picks up a lady to go to a Senate meeting she is very nervous about. She leaves her brief case in his car and Antonio needs to find her the next day to give it back.... this is where the adventure begins. If you like a read that will keep you moving through the story then this is the book for you.

I would recommend this book for those that like a little bit of suspense, drama, faith, mystery and lots of characters, then get this book. It is one of those that will keep you turning the pages. This is book #1 of the Driver Series and I can't wait for book #2 to come......

Driver Confessional is an interesting read as the reader steps into the day and life of a ride-share driver. I honestly did not know much about this service, apart from what I heard on the news or saw on TV. What an interesting job and yes, I can imagine all the unusual and interesting, even scary people and incidents that could take place.

We ride around the D.C. area with Antonio, a loving husband and father, who is trying to make extra money for his family as he attends law school. Their lives are very busy, filled with love and a heartache, but they are making it the best they know how with a strong faith in God. I thought it interesting how Antonio became a missionary driver, seeking God when hurting people stepped into his car. I also appreciated that he was not a perfect man and also had to ask forgiveness for a short temper especially dealing with traffic but also with some customers who think they know everything.

We are also dealing with politics and shady characters as Antonio picks up a certain passenger one night who unbeknownst to them all, has information that sets off a firestorm of violence and rocks Antonio and his little family including his brother Rocco who is a cop.

I was a quick read and again an interesting look at the life of a ride-share rider. Throw in some action adventure and hang on for the ride.

I received a copy of this book for free through Litfuse Publicity. I was not required to post a positive review and the views and opinions expressed are my own.

David L. Winters is an author that I will be following as "Driver Confessional" is an intense, action-filled read from start to finish. Antonio is merely trying to make a living to pay bills and support his family. He is used hearing his clients spill their secrets as they share stories in his car. However, one night, one ride, one person spilling secrets leads to so much more as a dangerous web results. This is such a good read and applicable for this time as there is political unrest and espionage as a main theme in the story. Antonio is an upstanding, Christian man who shares his love and faith with his passengers, and a family man; it is impossible to not like him and not root for him. This is only book #1 in the series and I am looking forward to getting to know Antonio better as this was a nice window into his life and into Antonio as a main character. This is a great start to the series and I highly recommend this to those whom enjoy suspense.
