I'm really impressed with illustration portion of this book and the way the book guides the reader to reproduce the drawings. But I'm not as impressed with the writing portion. After I found the first misspelled word, I stopped reading.

Great series - wouldn't recommend for age 8 - I'd say more like 10 and up. We are JUST starting cursive, and these words and sentences are way too long and complex for what my 8 year old can copy. Also some of the drawings are awfully tedious for an 8 year old unless you REALLY have a gifted artist!!! My son loves history and loves the concept - but we will set it aside for another year or two until he is really ready to tackle the challenge.

Ask a Question

|

Q: I am looking to buy the Draw and Write through History book....i plan on using for 2 children though. Do i need to purchase 2 books? They are not consumable right? They are making there own art/writing book on their own? I only need to purchase one for the both to share, correct?

A:

You are correct, this book is not consumable. The student can either complete their work in a separate notebook or notepad, or use the corresponding "Draw Write Now Workbook" (WW930702).
