Your artistically inclined students will love the opportunity to make their history lessons come alive! Volumes cover the time of creation to the 20th century, so you have plenty of period options to choose from. Each lesson features a prominent event, step-by-step drawing instruction, and a summary paragraph to be copied for cursive handwriting practice. Scattered throughout the book are tidbits about each drawing.
A great supplement to any history program, especially for students who love to draw! Ages 8 to 12, but adaptable for younger children. 64 pages each, softcovers from CPR Publishing. -- Rebekah

But I'm not as impressed with the writing portion. After I found the first misspelled word, I stopped reading.
Molly Loder4 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2010Molly LoderGreat series - wouldn't recommend for age 8 - I'd say more like 10 and up. We are JUST starting cursive, and these words and sentences are way too long and complex for what my 8 year old can copy. Also some of the drawings are awfully tedious for an 8 year old unless you REALLY have a gifted artist!!! My son loves history and loves the concept - but we will set it aside for another year or two until he is really ready to tackle the challenge.
Q: I am looking to buy the Draw and Write through History book....i plan on using for 2 children though. Do i need to purchase 2 books? They are not consumable right? They are making there own art/writing book on their own? I only need to purchase one for the both to share, correct?
You are correct, this book is not consumable. The student can either complete their work in a separate notebook or notepad, or use the corresponding "Draw Write Now Workbook" (WW930702).
