Domesticated Jesus will take you on an amazing journey to discover how your life is not reaching fulfillment. Harry Kraus Jr, believes many Christians have swapped a God-glorifying gospel for a lesser gospel where 'I' is the central doctrine. Take a soul-searching journey to discover if you have tamed the Son of God to serve your purposes, rather than give your life for His.
We all try to domesticate Jesusletting him into our lives only until we feel threatened. Harry Kraus takes a hard-hitting look at this atrocity, challenging us to see Jesus as the treasure he truly is.
Harry L. Kraus Jr. (MD, Medical College of Virginia) is a board certified general surgeon who has practiced both in the US and abroad in Kenya as a medical missionary. He has served four years with Africa Inland Mission as a surgeon in Kenya and is currently home in US on furlough. He is a member of Christian Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
"Domesticated Jesus" forces us to take a good look at the limits we have placed on God and in turn reflect on the fullness of His awesome power."
Harry Lee Kraus, Jr. is the real deal - a lover of God, a husband, a dad, a surgeon, a missionary, an author, and my friend. My wife, Barbara, had the same reaction as Kris, Harrys wife: I dont like the title, she said. Maybe it is another guy girl thing you know the way God wired us? Personally, I liked the title because it gave me the impression that Harry was going to take an honest look at how we try to shape Jesus into someone we can deal with and make Him to be a bit more socially acceptable. The book is long overdue! The Western world needs to read and hear what my friend has to say. Harry writes with honesty and puts in story form what all of humanity must deal with, if in fact we choose to take seriously our relationship with the Lord of all creation. C. S. Lewis said years ago, Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord! In Domesticated Jesus, Harry is confronting all who confess with their mouth to be followers of Christ with an honest and open look at how we are living that commitment out with our actions. I think it is a must read! I pray God will use this book to strengthen and thus expand his Kingdom!
