GingerS2194 Stars Out Of 5slow to start, but gets much betterFebruary 1, 2015GingerS219Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4It took me several chapters to get into this book, and I considered putting it down. That would have been a mistake, however, as the story improved dramatically.
Despite the darkness of the chapters in the antagonists voice, they were necessary to see things as he saw them.
Overall, I enjoyed Dog Tags and recommend it.
Takeaway: Even small events can have a huge impact on the future. :)
I received this book from the publisher/author in return for an honest review.

This book was fast paced and very interesting.
Growing up, Beth Martindale had a huge crush on her older brother's friend, Mark Graham. Ten years down the road and lots of things have changed. Mark was the man who desperately tried to save Beth's brother's life when they were in the Marines together. The fact that he failed to do so and was injured in the process has defined his life up to this point. When Beth and Mark reconnect, will they both be able to start fresh or will the loss of someone they both cared deeply for hinder a possible relationship?
There is another current running under the story of Mark and Beth's relationship. Beth becomes the victim of a stalker. She begins receiving disturbing notes and things escalate from there. Will Mark be able to save her from harm or will his disability make him unable to keep her safe?
Dog Tags has a great love story running through it and also a satisfying suspense story. It was a very enjoyable read.

Tell us a little about yourself. I have a B.A. in biology, a minor in Bible from Cedarville University, and a passion for writing Christian fiction. Additionally, I'm a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and have written two articles for Intercom. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and two dogs, Cocoa and Sparky.
What was your motivation behind this project? I took a romance novella I'd written and revamped it to make it a suspense novel. The suspense version made for a better story. I wanted a villain with certain weaknesses that might help lead to his demise, but at the same time, I wanted the villain to be able to capitalize on the weaknesses of the hero. Also, I wanted a strong female as my heroine.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The characters deal with loss and grief, and I desire that readers will gain a sense of hope from reading the novel.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? At the time that I was writing the novel, my father died and was struggling with infertility, so I was dealing with my own grief and loss, just like the characters in the book.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Two of my favorite authors are Ted Dekker and Irene Hannon.
