Tell us a little about yourself. I teach religion courses at Pepperdine University. I'm from New Mexico, and I'm also a Canadian citizen.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wanted to write about the new developments in global Christianity. But I wanted to write an enjoyable book.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? People will learn all kinds of new information about Christianity in all parts of the world. I hope they gain insight into the vast presence that Christianity has on our planet.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I realized that Christianity is stronger in the Global South (Asia, Africa, Latin America) than it is in the northern hemisphere.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Philip Jenkins, Lamin Sanneh, Rodney Stark, John Allen Jr.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I want readers to feel free to email me their reactions to the book, and their ideas about global Christianity. Authors have a reputation for being aloof. But I want to hear from people so we can generate new ideas together.
