What does it mean to be a woman? The current cultural ideal for womanhood encourages women to be strident, sexual, self-centered, independent -- and above all -- powerful and in control. But sadly, this model of womanhood hasn't delivered the happiness and fulfillment it promised. The Bible teaches that it's not up to us to decide what womanhood is all about. God created male and female for a very specific purpose. His design isn't arbitrary or unimportant. It is very intentional and He wants women to discover, embrace, and delight in the beauty of His design. He's looking for True Women!
Bible teachers Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss share the key fundamentals of biblical womanhood in this eight week study. Each week includes five daily individual lessons leading to a group time of sharing and digging deeper into God's Word. And to enhance this time of learning together, on-line videos are available featuring Mary and Nancy as they encourage women to discover and embrace God's design and mission for their lives. Visit TrueWoman101.com to view the videos and download additional study resources.

- Intentionally pass the baton of Truth on to the next generation
- Pray earnestly for an outpouring of God's Spirit in their families, churches, nation and world

Her love for Christ and His Word is infectious, and permeates her online outreaches, conference messages, books, and two daily syndicated radio programs, Revive Our Hearts and Seeking Him. Her books have sold more than three million copies and are reaching the hearts of women around the world. Nancy and her husband, Robert, live in Michigan.
Katie with Discipling Girls5 Stars Out Of 5One of My Top 5 Recommended Books for High School GirlsJuly 31, 2016Katie with Discipling GirlsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As a twenty-something with a heart for girls ministry - Im always on the hunt for something interesting, relevant and capable of deepening my girls' understanding of God and Scripture. Based on these criteria, I would highly recommend this study.
-Clear explanation of the differences between manhood & womanhood (while not falling into stereotypes)
-Excellent parallels of how a marriage between a man and a woman reflects Christ and the church
-Addresses the common (yet often unspoken) feeling that God loves women less
-Good balance of addressing those who are married and also girls who are single. Since I disciple high school girls, this was really important for me.
-The online sessions are mediocre. I taught tidbits that I liked in them, but never showed them in group. The content in the videos especially doesnt translate well to high school girls.
-There is a LOT of content & I was concerned my girls would get overwhelmed by information and absorb little. For this reason, I taught from outlines I created each week to highlight points I wanted them to remember.
The Bottom Line:
Divine Design ranks in the top five books I currently recommend for high school girls. It will challenge those who have grown up in church their whole lives and give them information to wrestle with so they can figure out what they believe Scripture teaches. It was very rewarding as a leader as my girls made comments like I never thought of that before!"

As Christian women, we desire to honor God by living countercultural lives that reflect the beauty of Christ and His gospel to our world . . .
These powerful words lifted from the True Woman Manifesto are a wake up call to women, an invitation to enter into a life based on truth, and to view womanhood as a glorious gift that puts the creativity and wisdom of God on display.
In True Woman 101: Divine Design, Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss (now Wolgemuth), share their own very unique stories of following God into ministry Mary as a wife and mother, Nancy as a single woman at the time of the books publication. Certainly, marital status is no barrier to active and meaningful ministry.
While many in the church waste valuable time quibbling over what women should do or may do, the word of God is clear in its teaching that, although marred by the fall, the role of a godly woman is to exhibit wholehearted devotion to Christ, to display purity of heart and a quiet spirit in her use of the unique ministry gifts that God has granted.
When Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as the Helper, he forever exalted the role of those who come alongside to assist. This is a powerful message for women who want their homes to be launching pads for the next generation of world-changers, for women who are called to meet the needs of others outside their family circle, and for women of all ages and of all giftings who desire to be intentional and purposeful in living a countercultural life that puts others first.
The words of Elisabeth Elliot are a magnificent mission statement:
We are called to be women. The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted Gods idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be.
True Woman 101 is an eight-week study that serves as an invitation to throw away the cookie cutters and delight in the differences between men and women as well as the differences among women of diverse temperaments, at various stages in life, and with different callings. We live our lives before God to the end that Christ may be exalted and the glory and redeeming love of God may be displayed throughout the whole earth.

Lights in a Dark WorldGender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Learn God's true design for women just like you!July 7, 2015Lights in a Dark WorldGender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Womanhood is not what it once was, I think we all know that! God designed womanhood to be wonderful, but sin has marred what true womanhood is all about. Throughout history people have tried to change Gods design for us. Feminism has taken hold and warped our view of true womanhood. This 8-week study will teach you what Gods original design was, and what His plans for us were. This study will show you that Gods design is beautiful, and not something we should want to change.
I learned so much through this study. After each week's lessons, there is an accompanying video on the True Woman website where you can learn even more as the authors discuss the topics covered that week. I will say, although I read this study alone, it is designed to be more of a group study. I believe every woman should take this study and embrace Gods design of womanhood. Dont fall into the worlds philosophy of feminism. When you decide to strive to be the woman God designed you to be, you will be so much happier. So go grab your book today!

True Woman leads readers on a biblical journey showing them God's original design-showing them His design was perfect.
This is an eight-week bible study designed for individual or group use. Its focus is on delivering a solid concept for biblical womanhood.
The authors tone was much like having a conversation with friends. They make sure you understand that the information in this book wasn't something they created, but was and is Gods original design for woman.
Filled with scripture, sometimes written in the book, other times it's a verse you have to look up in your own bible; though there are a few times I kind of disagree with the interpretation of a verse. This study is very encouraging.
This book is a wonderful start if you want to shift your focus to biblical womanhood. I definitely recommend this book for women of any age.
I received this book through the Publishers in exchange for an honest review. A positive review is not required or guaranteed, all opinions express are my own.
danniAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5good for beginnersSeptember 22, 2014danniAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThis is an eight-week bible study designed for individual or group use. Its focus is on delivering a solid concept for biblical womanhood. Each week includes five lessons as well as a listening guide and video lesson. These additional resources are free.
As the title reveals, this study is very foundational. It assumes the reader does not already have the basic biblical truths regarding womanhood as God designed. Although I have much to learn, many of the lessons were more of a refresher rather than new, profound knowledge.
The weekly lesson summaries are as follows:
1: Gender Matters God created man and woman for specifically different roles and purposes of displaying the Gospel.
2: Snips and Snails Men were created to image the relationship of Christ to the church which has substantial implications to the relationship between man and woman.
3: Sugar and Spice Woman were created t image the relationship of Christ to the church which has substantial implications to the relationship between man and woman.
4: Snake in My Garden Adam and Eves sin blemished Gods design and beauty of the male-female relationship.
5: Battle of the Sexes Sin has helped assist in the growth of the womens movement throughout history.
6: Hear Me Roar Cultural womanhood is significantly different than Gods divine design for womanhood.
7: Total Makeover By accepting and embracing Gods design, He will transform womens lives into an unparalleled beauty.
8: Sisterhood is Powerful We are to live intentionally and purposefully according to Gods divine design.
The authors do a great job of providing thought-provoking questions. A new believer or even a veteran believer will be able to truly determine what they believe about their identity as a woman in Christ. Their definition of a biblical woman is the following: She is, quite simply, a woman who is being molded and shaped according to Gods design. Shes a woman who loves Jesus and whose life is grounded in, tethered to, and enabled by Christ and His Gospel. As a result, she is serious about bringing her thoughts and actions in line with what the Bible says about who she is, and how she ought to live. She is a woman who rejects the worlds pattern of womanhood and gladly wears Gods designer label instead.
At the end, there is an afterward titled Different by Design. Normally I do not spend too much time reading afterwards at the end of books, but decided to see what the authors had to add. Essentially, they humbly admit that there is no black and white outline for a biblical Christian woman. They simply lay out the foundation that allows for the unique personalities, skills, talents, and desires that God designs us with.
