Publisher's Description

The way we think and feel about ourselves is one of the most important things about us—affecting our peace of mind, our creativity and our ability to engage meaningfully in the world. Perhaps most importantly, it impacts our relationships with others, including our relationship with God. These eight studies by Dale and Juanita Ryan are designed to help us take a transforming look at some key aspects of our self-image under the clear reflection of God's love.

Our Bible Study group is really enjoying this book. The lessons help us to see issues that many times we don't even recognize we are dealing with. The lessons are short but have so much substance. The questions are easy to understand and there is always a prayer or meditation at the end of the lesson to practice during the week so that the lessons stick with us and we better understand the images that trip us up in our daily walk with Jesus.

The introduction to this study contains foundational concepts of self-image and its development. Briefly restated, our self-image was developed mostly before our ability to reason. A key concept driven home herein is this, "We ARE valued by God. This value is not something we earn. It is not part of an 'if-then' clause...It's a given."

The structure and exercises of this study are both academically rational and profoundly experiential so that our false image of our selves can be broken down while we are experiencing the tender love and acceptance of our Heavenly Father. Fully engage in this study and you will experience growth and healing; you will receive a new and truthful image of self that will allow you to freely be loved and to overflow with the Father's love.
