This is not, as I thought it would be, a normal reading book. It is, rather, more of a handbook or reference book. Going through many examples of mechanisms in nature and how that influenced inventors to created many of the advances we see in technology today. The entries are very small and the book not as readable as a normally formatted book. Probably better read as a devotional but still an outstanding and very educational read.

Discovery of Design is a book that is an easy read, yet very informative. Packed in-between these 233 pages are a wealth of information just waiting to be accessed. The eight fact filled chapters are set up basically by the division of animal, i.e. Microorganisms, flight, insects, etc. The basic overall topic of the book is how man has used nature to develop products for the betterment of mankind. From Velcro to Surveillance vehicles, it is covered in this fun and informative book. Each topic within a chapter is only two pages long, which would make this book a good choice for a different type of devotional. At the end of each topic is a set of questions, these questions are great for the student in your life. At the end of the book you can find the answers to the questions asked under each topic.Being a teacher myself, I feel that this resource would be wonderful to use in a home school environment. And for the public school student, this would give them something to counteract the suffocation of anything that has to do with God and give them the tools needed to defend their faith in a challenging and increasingly anti Christian world.

I have just about finished reading Discovery of Design. It is a fascinating and inspiring read for the curious minded individual. I now realize I've had a naive assumption that most of the great discoveries have already been made with only minor ones yet to be uncovered. Yet this book reveals a multitude of unexplored possibilities. Apparently, we have only scratched the surface of the depth of God's creative genius! I like the abreviated format which leaves no room for boredom when moving from one subject to the next. However, I also like the inclusion of questions and references for further investigation. The graphic design gives an appealing appearance and makes it a pleasure to read. I would recomend this book to anyone who has a love for discovery.
