Author Bio

Dr. Roger J. Lederer is Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences at California State University, Chico, whose expertise is ecology and ornithology. He has published over thirty scientific research papers and twelve books and been consulted by the BBC, National Geographic, National Public Radio, the Guinness Book of World Records, The New Yorker, ABC News, and many other organizations, publications, and individuals for authoritative information on birds. He has traveled to over 100 countries and been a guest speaker and naturalist on many cruise ships.

Dr. Julius Csotonyi is one of the world's most high-profile and talented contemporary scientific illustrators. His considerable academic expertise informs his stunning, dynamic art. He has created life-sized dinosaur murals for the Royal Ontario Museum and for the?Children's Museum of Indianapolis, as well as most of the artwork for the exhibit "Deep Time" in the David H. Koch Hall of Fossils at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. He lives in Canada.
