I'm still digesting the material but have appreciated the different translation and the more faithful rendering of Bonhoeffer's way of speaking.
Valerie5 Stars Out Of 5April 21, 2008ValerieIts amazing that this book was written 70 years ago. Its message, though timeless, is sorely needed for the American Church today. The distinction between the American Church and the World is often blurred as it escapes the legalism and tradition of the past. Bonhoeffer helps us understand who we trully are as believers and our resoponsibilities as we mature into disciples. He helps us to see how disciples together form the church comminity and impact the world as the Church. Material from this book could inspire years worth of sermons, messages and lessons. The writing is a bit tedious at times; it is not a fast read. It is worthy of a home in my library - and additional copies as gifts to others
