The RSV Didache Bible presents extensive commentaries based on the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church for each of the books of the Bible. It also includes numerous apologetic inserts to assist you in understanding the Church's teachings on current issues.
It uses the Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition translation of the complete text of Sacred Scriptures, Old and New Testaments. This Bible version is considered by many Catholic leaders and authors, including Peter Kreeft and Scott Hahn, as the most beautiful English translation of the Bible today.
The Didache Bible is a valuable resource for serious study of the Bible–seeking a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and intended to be accessible by all Catholics in its level of scriptural scholarship.

Anne ElizabethOhioAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A wonderful resource!September 21, 2017Anne ElizabethOhioAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 5I have several Bible translations, but when I started my latest study this translation proved to be the most valuable. The accompanying commentaries located below the passages, coupled with the detailed Introduction for each book, then added references to the catechism made the study super complete! Not a stone was left unturned for extra knowledge in what I read. An excellent purchase. I HIGHLY recommend this product!
Mary C5 Stars Out Of 5This is the best Catholic Bible!August 2, 2017Mary CQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Between my husband and myself we have almost every Bible available----and this one is DEFINITELY the best! The study comments are really well done, there are more color maps than I have ever seen in any other Bible, there is a glossary and best of all there are pages throughout the Bible on Catholic apologetics---why do we have infant baptism, what is a sacrament? Those topics are all indexed in the back of the Bible for easy access. The notes and apologetics are all cross referenced with the numbers for those topics in the Catechism of the Catholic Church for further reading and study. This is the only Bible we recommend when we are asked. Everyone we show it to buys it and loves it.

Reverend JIM5 Stars Out Of 5Didache Bible is the bestJuly 3, 2016Reverend JIMQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5When one is reading patristics, one wants a bible that is readable and accurate. The RSV Didache is actually the Catholic edition, but the changes bring it more into line with the scriptures as the Fathers received them. Yes, I know for some it is hard to believe that God did not write the King James Bible. But, this keeps the best features of the King James in modern English, with some of the more egregious errors, stemming from Reformation polemics, removed, such as the angelic salutation in Luke. Nor does this suffer from the inclusive language problem of the NRSV.
A good bonded leather cover, strong spine, a readable font size and font, gilded edges and ribbon make this aesthetically desirable. Perfect study notes that are not one sided to historical criticism make this easy to use. It is a good bible to use with the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture and Ancient Christian Texts series of Thomas Oden.
