I am actually quite impressed with this book. A teacher at my college has a copy of it and I spend a lot of time in his office perusing its pages (along with a number of other works, such as Margaret Barker, Bart Ehrman, and others). The imagery and explanations in this book, I feel, are top notch. Admittedly the pages leave a bit to be desired, but, overall, I must say that for the price of the book and the quality of the book it is well worth the purchase.
The information found in this resource has been a great help, and has added insight to many different subjects. It has also given me other aspects to consider when studying the Bible (plot, motif, metaphor to name a few). It would be well worth the purchase to add this dictionary into your library!
I was very disappointed with this book. I found it to be very slanted to replacement/reformed theology. The pages were of poor quality. I'm in the process of returning this book, and ordering a decent atlas instead. I recommed the New Ungers Bible Dictionary, as it does not containa slanted theology, and presents both sides.
