i really enjoyed the entire series. The story that is weaved in with the message is not as a direct comparison as in "Be Still". Probably because the wife leaves out some personal details but Lisa Chan's message is very soft but extremely compelling to understand the need to deny yourself and follow Christ

Our ladies Bible Study group has thoroughly enjoyed the True Beauty:Finding Your Identity in Jesus videos by Lisa Chan. We were especially convicted by "Deny Yourself" which clearly states what our Lord requires of a true disciple. Irene and her husband's journey from an abusive relationship to a couple who are truly used by the Lord is amazing and gives one hope in the most difficult situations. This series is definitely not for the nominal Christian but for those that need to be challenged to get serious about being a true disciple of Jesus.

The majority of the DVD is about an abused wife who was encouraged by her mentor to stay with an abusive husband. Never fully explains the situation. Leaves you with the belief that you should stay no matter what and this is totally wrong. The changes in her life are signifigant but not enough space or time to delve into the discussion properly. Example person needs to be different. THIS DVD HAS NOTHING to do with the description given about today's women being given false promises, with latest fad diet, wrinkle cream etc.. Was not what we were expecting at all, and ended up not showing the DVD. Even though it didn't cost much it was a waste of our money.
