Philip Carlson, Ph.D.MSAge: 25-34Gender: Male3 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2010Philip Carlson, Ph.D.MSAge: 25-34Gender: MaleLester Sumrall give a decent popular level treatment of the subject of demons in this book. It seemed to me to be brief and to skip over a few key points along the way. One good thing about this work is that it can be read through very quickly. I read it in my leisure time and had it finished with extensive research notes in three days. There is a section that has some very interesting stories about demon possession and the like. I think what did it for me was the fact that I had just finished "Biblical Demonology" by Unger when I went to read this book. After such a masterful treatment of the subject I suppose any other work is bound to fall short. This book did just that for me. It doesn't treat the subject at the same level of detail or scholarship as does Unger's. I also found this book to be more speculative. If anyone ever wanted to study this subject I would unequivocally hand them a copy of Unger's book first. Perhaps this would make a good reference from another point of view.
James D. Lopez5 Stars Out Of 5March 11, 2010James D. LopezThis book by Lester Sumrall will remind us of the real battle that's always going on, our battle with the dark powers that are at work in the heavenly places as Ephesian 6:12-14 says. This book contains a powerful testimonial on the power that Christ can unleash through us to rebuke demons who indwell in other people. It's really a powerful tool for every Christian to have! I would recommend the book, "They Shall Expel Demons" by Derek Prince as a continuation from this book! Blessings.
