cristi6West Branch, MIAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Life ChangerJuly 12, 2019cristi6West Branch, MIAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I absolutely loved this book! I don't think I have read anything that has impacted me as much as this has. Beth Moore has done an awesome job with this. We all find ourselves in pits at one time or another in our lives. We get in by someone else putting us in, slipping in, or jumping in. I see different times in my life where I have been in each of these pits multiple times. Beth also shows you how to get out of those pits and also how to help others get out. The big thing that stuck out to me was that when you get out, stay out! Don't let anyone put you back in that same pit. Don't slide back in. I think that is the most dangerous spot to be inright after you get out. If I could have rated this higher than a 5-star, I would have. This is a definite must read for everyone!

LadyD4 Stars Out Of 5Great Scriptural ReferencesJune 6, 2019LadyDQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The author shares a few moments of her story with honesty and transparency. In that way, I believe she is able to lead people through the journey of life in the pit and then offer helpful insights to live a new life of freedom by trusting in God. Beth's approach to painful situations and finding hopeful resolutions is always based on the truth of God's word. So, unlike most self-help books, the author shares how crying out for help, confessing our wrong-doings, and surrendering to the Lord daily offers a pit-less future. This small hardcover book is filled with many scripture references encouraging the reader to know Christ and His redeeming power of grace, especially Psalm 40:1-2.

Get Out of That Pit was one of the first books I read by Beth Moore, and I appreciated both her testimony and her teaching. Comparing the two books, the most noticeable differences are that Keith Moore's Foreword, the Scripture Prayers, and the Discovery Guide were left out of the new book.
I love the journey Moore takes her readers on through this book, either edition. She starts by defining life in the pit. Next she discusses three ways people manage to end up living in pits. She talks about things her readers can do to get out of their pits along with the importance of waiting on God, cooperating with Him, and praising His name. Finally she encourages her readers with a reminder of the promise of Heaven, a place where there will be no more pits. We'll be delivered once and for all.
If you haven't read Get Out of That Pit or if you've read it and need a reminder, I recommend Delivered to you. I thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for sending me a complimentary copy, so I could share my impressions with you.

The subject of this book is for those that are suffering and want to get out of the pit they are in. Beth uses her experiences and of those that she has met through her journey, to give us the ways of getting out of the pit and knowing that when we go into the pit, we can get out.
I would recommend this book to anyone of any age that goes through depression and just can't seem to get out of the mood. Beth gives us easy to follow passages and explanations of what to look for and how to make your attitude towards a better you for GOD using GOD's word. This book is so small that you can carry it with you in your purse, pocket or keep in desk draw for when you need that quick inspiration for those bad days. This is a great book for those that struggle through rough and tough days.
