The city of Corinth was well known in the ancient world as a place where every desire could be sated, where every discerning taste could find satisfaction. Unfortunately, the Corinthian church, instead of living generous and sacrificial lives, became infected with the "me, myself, and I" culture for which their city was famous. According to the apostle Paul, the Christians in Corinth ignored the poor and marginalized and focused on their own selfish agendas. Conlon believes that the cultural priorities of twenty-first century North America are not so very different from ancient Corinth--and that the modern church too often makes the "Corinthian mistake." In The 180 Degree Christian, Conlon calls today's church to turn away from its self-centeredness and toward the selfless serving like that of Christ.
Carter Conlon is senior pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, an interdenominational church with more than 8,000 people representing more than 100 nationalities. He receives many invitations to preach at conferences and evangelistic rallies throughout the world. Conlon is the author of The 180 Degree Christian and Fear Not.

chad burns5 Stars Out Of 5the solution for apostasy and lazy christianityDecember 13, 2014chad burnsQuality: 5Meets Expectations: 5My friend gave me this book knowing I love Carter Conlon, David Wilkerson, b.h. Clendennen and some other hard line preachers. This book was an easy read and very challenging spiritually. Based on a sermon series preached by pastor carter called "the Corinthian problem" (free downloads available at the times square church sermon SERIES section) that I discovered after reading this book. Pastor carter deals with the laziness and other problems in the church today in a way only he can. He's like a loving father in this book (and sermon series), holding a discussion with his child. So what was the end result of me reading this book? I said I had enough of the garbage plaguing Christianity today.
My church has cancelled their prayer meetings. Cancelled their bible studies, cancelled Sunday school. So now me and another gentleman fed up with this Sunday morning only Christianity have started a bible study that I teach and a prayer meeting. The pastor barely gave his permission but he did and we're pressing on. Inspired by this book I also launched a full time ministry.
Truly this book is the solution for the problems in the church today.
Each of the 12 chapters (matching the titles of the sermons they're based on) is challenging and loving and will provoke you to be a christian of deeper faith and substance. I thank carter for writing this book. Excellent for discipleship. I recommend it for everyone claiming to be a christian. I will be giving copies to all the leaders at my church hoping it'll revolutionize the church's ministry just as it put me in full gear to launch mine. This is the book of the decade!!!!!

This book does that. Conlon seems to be a offspring of David Wilkerson. The book is loaded with scripture that helps you to constantly compare what the writer is saying against what God has already told us. A must read for anyone desiring to be honest with self and go deeper in their walk in Christ. A wake up call to the Church in the United States.
