Definite Atonement

Definite Atonement sets out to explain and defend the doctrine that is popularly referred to as “Limited Atonement”. In his work, Gary D. Long has chosen to refer to this doctrinal concept as definite atonement or particular redemption believing that the term “limited” often times provides people with a false view of what the doctrine actually states. Throughout the work Long uses original language and historical context to exegete the text of Scripture as he argues in defense of definite atonement. His argument is encapsulated in the following three categories: the love and eternal purpose of God, the redemptive work of Christ, and the applicatory work of the Holy Spirit.
