Using the spiritual armor of Ephesians 6, The Divine Defense outlines six practical strategies you can use every day to defeat Satan's vicious and destructive plan. It also answers difficult questions such as whether Christians can be demon-possessed, how to differentiate between demonic oppression and mental illness, and should Christians be involved in rebuking Satan or exorcising demons. Complete with a study guide for individual or small group use, The Divine Defense will help you live victoriously in the unshakable power of God.

This book, which is solidly grounded in Scripture, is eye-opening in that it graphically illustrates the real threat of demon activity in our modern times. It challenges Christians to face Satan and all his minions head-on with the power of Christ. Jeffress says the church as a whole should address this problem, and he offers precise ways to go about rebuffing the forces of evil. He advocates group prayer to directly renounce the work of demons. He lists specific passages of Scripture that should be memorized and called upon when resisting satanic forces. He offers specific ways to rebuke demons and to engage in spiritual battles from a position of strength.
Jeffress is well qualified to write this book. He was a nationally-broadcast Bible teacher on the television program "Pathway to Victory," and he has written 15 previous books related to biblical matters.
The Divine Defense is a highly informative book for people who need to be grounded in matters related to demonology, but the reader must be warned that some of the author's examples and case histories are extremely raw, graphic, and shocking. As such, this book may not be appropriate for readers under age 16, but it would serve as a good reference book for a church or college library or as a study guide for mature saints who wish to know more about spiritual warfare.
