*****5 Stars
The story of how the two authors met and later married stirs up the beginning of the book by acknowledging the supernatural intervention of God in the lives of those who draw close or just a little closer to Him. The beginning validates the rest of the book as something worth hearing about.
The authors are generous in sharing the way to forever forgiveness that eludes so many, even Christians, who have just not gone the depth with Christ as the ultimate "Forgiver." This is such valuable information for those who are prone to holding grudges and looking for things in the present to support ill feelings toward others in their lives. This couple has put into this book what numerous counseling sessions might cover to help with the hoped for hurdle to forgiveness of long term hurts. Save yourself the hourly rates of counseling and make the small investment in this book for major relief from destructive emotions.
I received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for reading it and giving my honest review. I know of a number of people I would like to bless with a gift of this book. Do you know anyone who likes to rehash hurts from the past? I think we all know those people and may even be one of those people ourselves. This book is a blessing as it truly shows the way to forever forgiveness through Christ.

bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Healing through intimacy with GodMay 12, 2014bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Deep Relief Now: Free, Healed, and Whole. The authors make a bold claim for this book. "No matter how deep or longstanding your pain may be, if you follow the simple solution offered in this book, you can experience deep relief right now ... you can experience deep and lasting relief of your underlying emotional hurts." (12-13)
They share how God brought them together, he a divorced pastor and she a widow. God brought them to a place of new ministry.
Dennis writes about simple daily prayer, steps to abiding in Christ and toward walking in the presence of the Lord in a continuous basis. They describe how to quiet the flesh and build sensitivity to the Spirit, developing discernment, the location of thoughts and emotions, healing the emotional pain that hinders deep union with God, forgiveness and much more.
The key to experiencing deep relief is intimacy with our heavenly Father as a Person. Deep relief comes only through His presence and can only be experienced as we learn to continually abide in Him. (114) They provide actual practices to show how this is done and they also give many encouraging stories.
This book and the tools they suggest are based on biblical principles. The testimonies they tell are great. I recommend it to any who want to experience healing and relief from emotional pain.

It is also a book that needs to be read slowly to be absorbed. I will be reading this book more than once in order to get all I can out of it. The book walks you through the steps to take to a deeper relationship with our Father. This will then in turn help you to have less emotional stress with the ultimate goal of less pain. I am very glad I recieved this book and can use this book in my own life.

Patti SheneSoutheastern ColoradoAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A good resource for emotional healingJune 7, 2014Patti SheneSoutheastern ColoradoAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This review was written for Deep Relief Now: Free, Healed, and Whole.Deep Relief Now, by Dennis & Dr Jen Clark, outlines a simple means to heal emotional hurts based on Christian truths.
The first portion of the book tells the individual stories of Dennis and Dr Jen and how their lives intersected.
Dennis then explains the need to connect, stay connected, and reconnect to Christ within us, through simple prayer. He talks about how our spirit is in constant battle with our flesh. He describes the center of our thoughts, emotions, and our will.
Jen talks about allowing Christ to enter through the heart's door and how our communications with God through prayer should be a spirit to spirit experience rather than just words or "lists" of thank yous and requests. We need to be in touch with how we feel and learn to pray to God within, not the God far off in Heaven.
The book goes on to expand on these principles and gives examples throughout of people who have been healed by using the Deep Relief Now process. Scripture is used throughout the book, and the authors' genuine devotion to God and to helping others heal is strongly evident.
I have not initiated these principles in my own life as yet, so am unable to speak to their effectiveness. However, I am left with the impression that a person would need to be strongly rooted in their faith and have a deep understanding of their relationship with Christ to be able to apply these thought processes to a truly wounded and hurting spirit.
I would recommend this book as a resource to those who are burdened by a need to forgive, a need to overcome anger, or a need to recover from other crippling emotions that block them from leading a spiritually healthy life.
I received this book from Destiny Image books through Fred St Laurent of The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.
