Death in the Mind's Eye, by Rick Acker
What if it were possible to see inside someone's mind, and find out what they think or feel?
Mike Webster, a reputable medical malpractice attorney out of San Francisco is hired to defend Dr. Johanna Anderson when her patient Seth Bell, who is also the senator's son, commits suicide while being treated with an up-and-coming technology that assists therapy, called Mind's Eye. This therapy gives doctors insight into what patients are thinking, feeling and if they are telling the truth. Why did it not detect Seth's suicidal thoughts? Horizon Finance is a firm that wants to profit from this technology by auctioning off Mind's Eye to intelligence agencies around the world. How can Mike stop this injustice and help Johanna at the same time, when Val, his paralegal finds evidence that could blow the case wide open?

He does an amazing job at keeping you interested and has many twist and turns throughout his book. If you enjoy suspenseful books I feel you will like this one. It also has psychology and legal issues woven throughout this entire novel.
I will admit I was a little lost at the very beginning but it cleared up pretty quickly. I like all three main characters in this novel and at times liked one more than another. The chapters are short and usually from the point of view of the different characters, yet you understand which character each chapter is from.
Mike Webster is an amazing and good looking lawyer, he does not loose a case. When he is asked to take on this case for Jo he is not so sure it is for him. This is not his normal type of case. Yet he is drawn to Jo and this case in ways he really can't describe. The machine The Mind's Eye is very interesting. I can see where it is very helpful and where it could also be used to take advantage of others.
This is not my typical genre yet I look forward to reading more from this author. I could totally see this as a movie.

Who wins? What happens with mind's eye? What happens with Mike? What happens with Johanna? Let me tell you this folks there is a mind blowing - goose bump chillin - plot twisting ending. You will not regret your decision to buy. I received a copy of that book in exchange for an honest review.
