Depression riddles 1 of every 5 of the population. How should a Christian deal with it? As Sarah Collins and Jane Haynes remind us, God knows and deals with us by grace. Instead of being overcome by depression, let God move you from guilt to grace.
I encourage every church leader and member to read this booklet so that they will see how the gospel feeds the soul, enflames hope, and enables perseverance in the darkness of life, all through the grace of Christ. Robert Cheong, Sojourn Community Church

jhuntsman5 Stars Out Of 5A great resourceDecember 3, 2011jhuntsmanThis short little book is a great resource to those who are themselves struggling with depression or are close to someone who is. The two authors obviously write from personal experience working with individuals who have depression, so they bring a well-informed perspective to the topic. They especially focus on how a Christian should understand the suffering caused by depression. I found their approach to be biblical, balanced, practical, and sympathetic. They encourage believers to understand the medical realities of depression, but also offer advice for how to seek healing from God and supportive friends at a time when one's relationships can really suffer. They also provide short stories of Christians who have undergone depression, some of it very severe, as well as how family and friends can listen and care. An easy but informative read, I finished the book in under two hours.
