Riveting New Series Offers Legal Suspense with a Romantic Twist

In the biggest case of her career, attorney Kate Sullivan is tapped as lead counsel to take on Mason Pharmaceutical because of a corporate cover-up related to its newest drug. After a whistleblower dies, Kate knows the stakes are much higher than her other lawsuits.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James is still haunted by mistakes made while serving overseas. Trying to forget the past, he is hired by Kate to look into the whistleblower's allegation and soon suspects that the company may be engaging in a dangerous game for profit. He also soon finds himself falling for this passionate and earnest young lawyer.

Determined not to make the same mistakes, he's intent on keeping Kate safe, but as the case deepens, it appears someone is willing to risk everything--even murder--to keep the case from going to trial.

Deadly Proof is the first book Ive read by Rachel Dylan, and Im already looking forward to the sequel (this is the first of the Atlanta Justice series, which means there will definitely be a sequel). I love legal thrillers, and this was no exception. Shes an experience litigator herself, and that knowledge and authenticity definitely came through in Deadly Proof.

Kate Sullivan is one of many attorneys working on a class action lawsuit against Mason Pharmaceutical, who are accused of producing a migraine drug that causes brain tumours. She suspects something is afoot when a scared MPC employee contacts her, telling her the case is bigger and she has to dig deeper. She hires private investigator Landon James to investigate, and he soon finds things which make him suspicious.

The case is complicated by the number of firms involved and by the fact the lead counsel for Mason Pharmaceuticals is Ethan Black, Kates longterm friend. Kate is appointed to lead the case, including the assessing of thousands of pages of evidence. It soon becomes apparent that the case isnt going to progress smoothly especially when accidents start happening.

Deadly Proof is a fast-paced legal thriller that ticks all the boxesgreat characters, solid plot, great suspense, plenty of legal wrangling, and even a bit of romance Recommended for fans of legal thrillers from authors like John Grisham and Cara Putman.

Thanks to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.

I enjoy legal thrillers, and there have been a few authors on the Christian market who have written some great ones. I also enjoy trying new authors, so this was a no brainier to request this legal thriller to a new (to me) author. My first thoughts upon finishing this book were "wow!" and "This lady is really good." I started researching her and was surprised to discover that she is not a new author, and has several published books under her belt.

The legal thrillers I have read have been mostly by men, but Dylan shows she can hold her own in among these guys with this novel. It has everything a reader would want in a legal thriller: Great plot, great and likable characters, suspense, drama, romance, and legal "stuff" that is in easy to understand jargon.

Deadly Proof has great Christian themes throughout it, and especially of trusting God, and forgiveness. The book is an exciting read that kept me on the edge of my seat, and groaning when I had to put the book aside to do other things that needed done. The book had an excellent ending that left me wanting more, and also left me wanting to read more by this author. This is a truly awesome read that I was sorry to see end.

Just finished this page turning Christian Romantic Suspense. Action-packed, finding our way back to God when we think He abandoned us. Think big pharmaceutical company, deadly consequences with a recently released drug, murder, abduction, terrorizing an attorney. I started this book last night, stayed up late & finished it this afternoon while waiting in the doctor's office for my husband. My Kindle is great when on the go.

I bought this book and no one asked me to leave a review. All opinions are my own. This is the first book I've read by this author but plan on buying more this week. Just found a new author to add to my "favorite authors'" list at the local indy bookstore I use. Highly recommend this fast paced book.

Kate Sullivan has just been appointed lead counsel in the trial that will set her career on fire. Mason Pharmaceutical's (MPC) latest drug has deadly side effects and Kate is out to prove they knew about them but still put the drug on the market. Her clients are depending on her to win. MPC will try anything to stop this case from going to trial, so when a key witness ends up dead, Kate gets suspicious.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James is hired to handle security for Kate, but he soon discovers he got more than he bargained for when she is threatened multiple times.

As the pair races against the clock to uncover the truths of this case, the danger rises along with their feelings for each other. Can they solve the mystery before it's too late?

Deadly Proof had me from page one! I was hooked and couldn't stop turning the pages to find out what would happen next. The plot had some surprising twists and kept me glued.

The female lead had me cheering her on. She was a force to be reckoned with even though the threats mounted up against her. She put the client first and wouldn't back down. Go, Kate! The male lead melted my heart. He did everything to keep Kate safe even when he had to face his past mistakes. The characters in this book are strong and well written.

It's clear the author knows in the inside of a courtroom. I was impressed with the amount of legal jargon. Enough to make it realistic but not bog you down. Well done!

The setting and imagery throughout were well written. You could picture the meeting rooms and the courtroom as if you were right there.

This is my first read by Rachel Dylan and it won't be my last. I'm now a fan! I can't wait for the next book in this Atlanta Justice series.

I give Deadly Proof 4.5 gavels. It's one courtroom thriller you'll want to pay attention to!

Deadly Proof, the first in the Atlanta Justice series of legal thrillers, tells the story of Kate Sullivan takes on a big pharmaceutical company accused of creating a drug that caused brain tumors for those who took it. As Kate seeks justice for her clients, she encounters some frightening experiences, including murder. Because of this, Kate hires private investigator Landon James, who has a past of his own. As Landon works to keep Kate safe, he must face the trauma from his past in order to move forward with his life.

    A Great Vacation Read!

I was a little bit nervous picking up this book because as much as I love true crime, mysteries and suspense novels, often the legal side of things goes over my head. But I was pleasantly surprised with Dylan's writing! The legal aspects of this case were very accessible. I learned new pieces of the legal process, and understood the point of them without feeling like I was being spoon-fed a definition just so Dylan could use legal terms.

I was halfway through Deadly Proof when we went on vacation, so I grabbed it knowing I'd have some time to read thanks to nap time. I read the last 130 or so pages in one sitting because I wanted to know the ending! I even handed it over to my mom to finish the last 3 days of our trip, and she finished almost the entire book before we parted ways. (And yes, I let her keep it to finish! ;))

Deadly Proof was a great read and I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.

I received a copy of this book from Bethany House. This review is my own, honest opinion.
